Funny enough, unless we manage to blow the rest of the season and miss the playoffs, we will at minimum match what the Rams did in their rebuild season in 2023.

Just your friendly reminder that McVay's Rams once scored 3 points in a Super Bowl.

#2 overall offense that year...putting up 3 points in the SB vs a defense that was 7th in points allowed/21st in yards allowed.

Can you imagine Shanahan doing that?

Puts up 3 points….goes out and gets Matt Stafford.
Puts up 20 points…goes out and trades 3 picks for Trey Lance.

thats the difference between a SB winner and a SB loser.
This last game by McVay was very...familiar ? opposing qb throws a pick you up by two scores in the 4th with a lead...and yeah eerily familiar feeling...then ST screw ups...extremely familiar.

very oof...this is one of the few times I will say mcvay lost the game as much as the special teams did for the Rams. that offense needed to get first downs and they couldnt. as a neutral fan seeing that collapse definitely reminded me of shanny in the bowls

You keep bringing this up yet you conveniently ignore the very important detail that the Lions lied to Kyle. They told him they would continue trade discussions the following Monday and then traded Stafford Saturday night.

Too familiar on special teams.

No Dr. Literally the only difference is McVay's defense held his SB opponent with a 3 point lead. Shanahan's defense couldn't hold the 3 point lead - 3 times in the 4th quarter and OT.

That's it.

Oh wait, the refs didn't give Kyle's QB a do over cuz of a lame penalty. That too.

To answer the question, no.

It's okay they've all already moved on to the Seahawks as their new favorite team, verbatim and expected.
Not even close…. the Rams are a few steps behind us when healthy. Like I've been telling everyone, and they seem to be in denial, they have a weak linebacker core, a weak secondary, annd only a pass rush. That's it. We beat them with backups and third stringers for a reason. They are overrated and really don't have much of a chance if we are remotely healthy. Staff got lucky he did not throw two or three easy interceptions like he always does in the playhouse under pressure. But hey, he makes up for it by passing to amazing receivers that bail him out
Told ya, Stafford is never gunna win another SB..but..lol is ghostie Sam gunna win a ring before Brock? I gave Sam s**t all season..maybe bad karma lol

F Seahawks getting a ring in SC, go Pats..I guess ughh

All of this.
Brother they are steps behind everyone in the nfc west not named the cardinals
Bumping this thread because I see Rams fans all over twitter claiming they were the best team in the NFL and should've been the SB winners.

Have to say the crazy comparison to this year's 49ers team to the 2023 Rams squad just keeps gaining steam. Not to rehash bad memories but that was us in 2022 after we had no QBs vs the Eagles or really even after the 2023 loss in the SB. While the Rams fans were pretty satisfied with their quick turnaround 2023 season when many expected them to be picking top 10 after that year.

Though the funny thing is when all was said and done during our "rebuild/retool" we accomplished more than the Rams did in 2023 and we did it with a ton more impact injuries.

The question will be what Kyle/John learn from this season. Hopefully Kyle's comments before the SB lead him to addressing things this offseason so we continue the trajectory the Rams are on...minus losing to Seattle in the playoffs.

Hopefully we have a very different plan for free agency this year. We hit on adding Mac Jones but other than that there were no impact players. I was pretty excited about adding Demarcus Robinson(another crazy comparison to the 2023 Rams as they brought him in as well after cutting Leonard Floyd) but he didn't do nearly as much as I expected though came up big in the Eagles playoff win. Luke Farrell was our big signing and he was a major dud.

Can't expect perfection but we have to add more impact players this offseason to keep the momentum going because at least for the near future it's hard to see the Rams or Seahawks taking a big step back and next year's schedule will be a grind.

Just shows it's a year to year league. All the doom and gloomers are talking so much about how far behind we are falling behind the Seahawks and Rams as if those teams weren't the beneficiaries of our roster being decimated by injuries and things like the BA saga that set our team back. But who is to say similar types of set backs don't hit the Seahawks and/or the Rams next season? This sport is about luck as much as it is about anything else, and Seattle sure got lucky they had a stacked roster in a year where we were injured and in a soft rebuild, and the rest of the league was so soft their only real challenge to win a ring was to get by the Rams.

Well, if they were the best team in the NFL they would have beaten the Seahawks, right? I think just about any of the top five teams in the NFC would have beaten the Patriots as I don't think the top AFC teams were as good as the top NFC teams. One of the things that separates the NFL from every other sport is that it's one and done, which means that you have to be the best team on the days that it matters the most. Personally, I was glad the Seahawks went instead of the Rams. I find McVay really annoying, in much the same way I really disliked Russell Wilson for all those years. I don't mind Seattle so much now that Darnold's their QB. It seems more like a good old fashion rivalry now, and that's ok
