Let's rock & roll

Lions really struggling to score... Eagles D can definitely take them deep into playoffs, but their offense is nothing to write home about

Big win today! If Eagles can hold on against Detroit, we are 7th seed and Detroit is out.
With Detroit's loss, we now are the 7 seed and Detroit is out.

Next week if we win at home against Carolina, we move into the 6th seed if:

Pitt beats chicago at chicago

or

Minnesota beats Green Bay at Green Bay.

To pursue a division title, if we win at home against Carolina, we will be 1 game back of both Seattle and LA if Rams lose at home against Tampa. And we have tiebreakers against both teams.

Caaan we let Detroit lose first?

They lost. 😊

I really don't see 49ers losing more than 2 games (11-6 at worst)... I can see Tampa, Bears and Packers falling behind us. It'll be hard to catch Lambs unless they lose 3 more games and we go 12-5

In that scenario (big if), Niners could win the tie breaker due to division record if LA loses to either Tards or Cucks in their next matchups

Rams 49ers
NFC Champ Game?

Then we remind Stafford he will never win another SB

Then Broncos/49ers SB

And we beat them 55-10

As happy as I am for the wins, sadly we're just earning lower draft position. Logically, draft position is probably more important at this point, since we're not making a playoff run without Fred/Bosa/Mykel and many other injuries. This defense will get torched and our offense is not built for a shoot out.

Playoff experience for the young players will benefit the team more than picking 18th would.
Next three are must wins and of the three after that, we need to steal one. Bears will be the best chance.

I wonder if we can get any above average defenders off of waivers to help us make a playoff run?

I could see a realistic scenario where we go 1-2 against the remaining AFC teams but still make the playoffs at 10-7. We would be 9-3 in the NFC and have critical tiebreakers over 2/3 of the Panthers/Bears/Seahawks in that situation. But I agree might have to go for 11-6 just to be safe.

This game against the Panthers next Monday is crucial. If we win, we're in a good spot because we'll be 8-4 and have three AFC teams plus a bye coming up over the next month. We could go 1-2 between Thanksgiving and Christmas and still be in a decent spot, as long as we beat the Panthers next week.

I really hate this mindset, particularly when we have a winning record past mid-November.

The only time I can at least rationalize it and understand it is if we are in the hunt for a top 3 pick in a class with at least one blue chip QB (which there are none this year) and one blue chip non-QB, and only teams who are 3-7 or worse right now are in the hunt for that. Otherwise, what is really the difference between pick #12 and pick #18, honestly? Pick #18 could easily be a stud while #12 turns into a bust.

I can't see this team winning more than one playoff game with the depleted defense they have. They get no pressue on the QB. The DBs can't cover receivers. They will need to outscore anyone they face and the defense they see will be better than what they faced yesterday.
