If we are more realistic than idealistic at this time, we may be hoping for a wildcard spot and then a deep run to the super bowl. Realistic meaning a wildcard over division win.

If that is the case, it may be in our best interest to be rooting for teams that are going to get in by winning their division - Philly and Tampa. Have them beat the teams we will be competing for a wildcard with - Detroit, Chicago, Green Bay and Seattle.

I think we want the Rams to beat Seattle this weekend. Let the Rams run away with the division. Seattle I think is weaker and will have 1 less loss than us and we still play them at home final game.

So I guess I'm rooting for Philly, Rams and Tampa to help us get the 5th seed in the playoffs.

It's still early... Lambs have to play seaCucks (twice), Tampa Bay, @ Panthers, Lions, @ Falcons and Tards (twice). Anything could happen between now and playoffs.

We might be banged up now, but the offense could be getting healthy at the right time. Our defense is a mess, but they could improve from now and until playoffs.

Other teams that are looking good because they aren't ravished with injuries (like us) could end up getting the injury bug at the wrong time. Negative Nancies will start preaching, "sky is falling" and all kinds of sh!t because they're pissed off (I get it). But let's wait and see... at least till the bye week.

Imo, we get to 11 wins (losing at Browns / Colts)... we'll see if that's good enough in the end. It'll be good enough for a wildcard for sure. I'm not crowning Lambs or cawkSuckers quite yet when it's quite possible that they can lose 4/5 more games each.

Green Bay just lost to Philly. We are now only 1/2 game back of Green Bay. As long as we win against these upcoming average teams, teams like Chicago and Green Bay still play each other twice which means we have a good chance of getting the 5 seed.

If Seattle loses at Rams this Sunday, we control our own destiny against Seattle because we have tiebreaker over them and play them final game of season at home.
It would be great if we can maybe get some good defenders off of waivers this year.

I really don't mind if either one sweeps the other, but a split is fine too
So, after next week. If:

We win at AZ
Detroit loses at Philly
Chicago loses at Vikings

We are 5 seed

If we win and only 1 of those teams lose we are the 6th seed.

Better draft pick for Lynch to waste?

I like this possibility.
Packers losing last night was pretty big for us. There are now three NFC North teams each with three losses and the Bears/Packers still have to play each other twice (Lions play each of them again once).

So there's still a path to the playoffs! I don't know if I see us doing anything… but there's still a path to the playoffs!
We win these next 4 games (which are very winnable) and that's 10 wins and imo a seat at the table in the playoffs…anything can happen after that.

imo if Kyle gets this team to the playoffs that's COTY s**t, anyone thinking otherwise is just trolling.

What sucks is 10-7 might not be enough in this scenario. Normally it would be but those Bears/Seahawks games at the end of the season could be critical.

There could be a screwed (but realistic) scenario where the Lions finish 5-3, Bears finish 4-4 but one of those W's is against us, Packers finish 5-3 and Rams/Seahawks both finish 4-4 and then we're screwed at 10-7.

I'd feel a lot better if we beat the Bears in Week 17. That game is looking HUGE and basically a playoff game right now.
Talking about playoff seeding this soon is like talking about Christnas before Halloween. Too early. A lot of things can happen with 7 games left. Injured players can return. More guys can get injured. Teams remaining on our schedule can have key injuries and so can teams that are in the mix.

My math above was wrong above.

If we beat AZ this week and both Detroit and Chicago lose, we would be the 6th seed not 5th seed.

If we win and only 1 of those teams lose we would be the 7th seed not 6th seed.

And if Seattle loses to the Rams this Sunday and we win and those other 2 teams lose, we are only 1 loss behind Seattle for that 5th seed and remember we hold the tiebreaker over them and play them at home the final game of season.
