If we are more realistic than idealistic at this time, we may be hoping for a wildcard spot and then a deep run to the super bowl. Realistic meaning a wildcard over division win.

If that is the case, it may be in our best interest to be rooting for teams that are going to get in by winning their division - Philly and Tampa. Have them beat the teams we will be competing for a wildcard with - Detroit, Chicago, Green Bay and Seattle.

I think we want the Rams to beat Seattle this weekend. Let the Rams run away with the division. Seattle I think is weaker and will have 1 less loss than us and we still play them at home final game.

So I guess I'm rooting for Philly, Rams and Tampa to help us get the 5th seed in the playoffs.

lol
Better draft pick > Losing in round 1 of the playoffs
I think the 7th seed and a 10-7 record is a realistic possibility.

Especially since they're so great using those 1st round picks.....

Not when the Defense is going to give up 40 Burgers
The game this weekend at AZ is huge for us. If we win, we are right up there with most other teams in wins and losses. If we lose at AZ, it puts us with a lot of other teams at the bottom of the ladder. The 49ers need to treat this game as a must win.

We're not going to give up 40 points to teams with bad offenses, and we have lots of those remaining on our schedule. We'll definitely struggle against teams with good QBs (Houston) and teams with good QBs and a plethora of weapons (Rams).

There is a big difference between the Rams, and teams like Carolina, AZ, Chicago, Tennessee, and Cleveland.

We're competing against Chicago, Carolina, and maybe an outside chance of Minnesota, for the final spot in the postseason. We have Chi and Carolina at home as well. Chicago has an extremely difficult schedule the rest of the way, and the Panthers are hot garbage.

We are not just competing with those teams above for the 7th seed. If green bay loses tonight, we have just 1 more loss than both green bay and detroit and we have the tiebreaker over them with better conference record. We also have an easier schedule than both detroit and green bay. So we are actually competing for that 5th seed as well. But we need to win this sunday at AZ. It will be good to have both Pearsall and Collins back. And Brock being back too will help with his scrambling ability. He needs to earn some of that 50 million dollars that we gave him by winning these games against average teams.

Yea, my post doesn't discount that we could finish with a higher seed. I don't think it's a likely possibility though.

There's a chance of Niners having 10 wins right before the last game of season (could be deciding factor). If they need the game vs seaCucks for seeding and what not, they'll try to get the win, otherwise just sit players
