19th overall last yr
No this year.
Correct, I'm saying he was good last yr with a different scheme. He's very much a one gap get upfield pass rusher. Super athletic and long. He's best rushing from the interior (but can play outside as well). He will be used similarly to Key and Omenihu here, varbel imo likes a different type of DL he's more of a traditional 3-4 guy. White has like 123 snaps this yr, he's barely played.
this doesn't really solve our edge issue and I hope the plan wasn't just Ferrell. They should try to make one other move and then we will be cooking with something.
Oh no doubt he was a beast last season, I love how he plays everywhere. I been watching a lot of him on Youtube, I can't wait to see him with Huff out there.
BUT quite honestly I want Quinnen Williams bad, and I hope the rumors are true about the 9ers being interested. Even though my Trey Hendrickson dream is still alive I want Williams!!!! Then after maybe Arden Key or whoever will cost a mid round pick.
He is just a rotation body. You know this beacuse Lynch only gave up moving back one round (and a late round) to get him.
The Patriots are leading the AFC East: they aren't sellers right now. If they gave him up that tells you what they think of him - that and the fact he was a healthy scratch for them (and their pass rush is middling).
While he was a 2nd round pick, that was two regimes ago (Belichick, whose drafting ability eventually got him forced out).
This isn't a trade that is likely to have a profound impact, but the cost is pretty low. Two years from now I doubt we will be thinking about this trade at all.

well the pick we are getting back is conditional. the actual price might end up being a 6th which would be high for a rotational guy.

If he's not playing up to it I'm pretty sure the team would just make him inactive to keep the 7th rounder. So either he plays so good we can't keep him off the field and he'll be worth the 6th rounder outright or they hedge to keep the pick.

probably the plan. i wonder if playoff games count toward that total. also based on injuries, we may not have the luxury to not play him. of course he can get hurt himself given our luck.

The more reps I watch, the more impressive this trade feels. This guy is legit, and the trade feels like the Bryce Hall move in that the 49ers will benefit from a good player being casted out due to scheme fit.

Hope so. He looks really good rushing from the inside on passing downs. Very much like Mykel. Hopefully we can still get an edge rusher somehow.
That move reminds me of the Omenihu trade and the Jordan Willis signing in the 2021/2022 season. They took a guy that fits the system and he seems to be someone that could improve with Kocurek. It's an intriguing move. Sure it's not Hendrickson or Phillips but it's a good piece to add.

He creates havoc in the best way possible. If we can get his motor turned up he's gonna be a dude.

After reading the thread, I don't see how you got "Hung" with Sam O. "Sam O Hung"
I am old so maybe I am just slow.
I forgot how to spell his last name and just wanted to find more articles on him from different sources... I Googled but accidentally typed Sammo and there you have it, Sammo Hung (Google Sammo you'll see) lol
I was just messing around in here and also wanted ppl to give him a bump on his page (PR stunt) It took another direction
