Saleh will most likely get a HC job after this season
Surprised the line is not only in favor of Houston, but getting bigger. Started at -1.5 Houston, now -2.5 in most places.

Doesn't mean much but how often do you see a 2-4 team be the favorite over a 5-2 team? 49ers are also 3-1 on the road.

Makes sense when you notice our starting QB, our elite DE, our elite LB, and our 2 best WR's are all out due to injury including a lot of other injures to other players.

With all of that, you would think we would only have a couple of wins at most.
Go 49ers
Texans oline is so terrible that it might make our dline look good lol

Probably still need to blitz, but I don't think Stroud is a blitz killer, but I could be wrong.
DRCHOWDER's lead post had Coach YAC stating, on X: "The 49ers opened as 1.5 point underdogs and are now 1.5 point road favorites against the Texans"
I personally don't understand betting lines, but, what's going on here?
And how does that automatic Home Field advantage thing figure into all this? (genus49 and another poster expertly explained it some time ago in another thread)
The betting line doesn't necessarily reflect who Las Vegas thinks will win. It reflects where bettors are placing their money. If too much is going to one yteam the odds will change to encourage people to place more money on ther underdog. Why do threy care? Becasue Vegas doesn't lie to lose. If too much money is bet on one team and they win then Vegas stands to lose more. Keeping the odds lower means they won't win as much but won't lose either.

Casinos play the long game and in the end they always come out ahead.
Huge surprise.. QB1 out again... WR1 out again...

This is basically it. The lines are there to balance the action. Vegas collects the juice or vig (effectively the cost to make the bet).

Ah I see more clearly. Thanks CM80 and SmokeyJoe.
