Quite frankly, I don't know. But I would hazard to guess that teams over-value big booming legs. As a team that has a track record for moving the ball with relative ease between the 20s, we don't really need to prioritize a great booming leg--until suddenly we don't have it. But, there's no accounting for stuff like that.

I think a trustworthy leg with a known range is just fine for us because we're a team that sets kickers up for success. We just need one that can reliably execute.

Well let's see if he will make PAT's & 35yd FG's boring again. With Moody I would cross my fingers and pray he would make the extra point.

My Panthers buddy's are saying he's good but he has choked when the game is in the line 🙄

On his career long 56 yarder; it still had plenty of room for 60+ so I ain't worried about his leg strength.

That sounds like an improvement to me. A team with a good defense and the ability to move the ball between the 20s is less likely to have to kick with the game on the line, at least until the playoffs roll around.

We chose to screw up over the offseason by sticking with Moody. Ideal solutions are currently off the table because of a decision made last spring. That doesn't mean he isn't an upgrade and it's not his fault that we chose poorly when we decided to stick with Moody. Maybe he's the solution, but he likely isn't.

He is an improvement and that's what matters.

lol if there is any situation a new young kicker can hope for, it's this one. Moody might be the most hated niner in years. not only was he hated, he was terrible. which really sucks cause I thought he would be awesome but it is what it is.

I met a random girl one night and I said I was a 49ers fan (within the conversation) and she straight up said " I effin hate Moody.". lmaoo! this is a true story, random girl just told me she hated jake moody. This was before the season.

Only god knows how livid she was on Sunday.

Sad thing is, if Eddy hits 85% of his kicks they'll be looking to draft his replacement next year :/
