I expect a close game. we're going against the Brandon Staley defense after all

I'll make sure the NFL Network and Rich Eisen is aware of this post.

No NFL game is a gimmie even if it's against a team that ends up like 3-14. I think the Saints will win 7 or 8 but they still have a pretty formidable defense and on the road in the Superdome is no picnic, every road game is a b***h to try and win.

OL looks good on paper

I thought Rattler played pretty well in their opener. He got the ball out in a hurry and made some nice throws. There are no gimmes in the NFL, but at the same time, good teams find ways to win games like this, even with some of their stars banged up. With injuries to Purdy and Kittle now, it will be more important than ever for the defense to keep making strides and help the offense out, especially in Conference games. Go Niners!
This team better not lose to Ratler

And 10 AM PT too

I hated the schedule when it was first released for this very reason. Opening on the road in Seattle and then New Orleans at 10 AM back to back was a recipe for an 0-2 start even for a talented team. Thankfully that's not possible anymore, but I still don't see this game as a given, not even close. I'm not predicting it but we could show up like zombies in a loud dome and lose by 20 and I wouldn't be surprised at all (kinda happened to us in Atlanta in 2022 IIRC).
Typical 49ers game versus a team like the Saints. Niners will let them hang around, game will be close in the fourth quarter, Niners need a drive to close the game out or run out the clock. They fail as KS runs the ball on 1st and 2nd down, attempts to throw on 3rd and QB is sacked or throws the ball away. Saints get ball with under two minutes left. Niners play soft coverage to keep everything in front while only rushing four. Rattler looks like an All Pro while getting his offense to the 7 yard line...spikes the ball with one second left.... Saints kick FG with no time left....win 17-16

Say what you will about Staley but he was a pretty good DC and we've struggled against his defenses when we had the matchups. Considering we're missing some heavy hitters on our offense I certainly don't have a ton of confidence.

Having said that we are 3-0 against his defenses whether as a HC or DC. Hopefully we make it 4-0 Sunday. But all 3 of those wins were one score wins.

Well you just ruined my thoughts on it being a blowout win for the Niners
10:00am body clock games are usually not easy.
