As far as "Catch" comparisons, it was similar in great timing and physical effort by the receiver.
Also similar, neither game was over and it took a strip sack and recovery to seal both victories.
I see a lot of great catches at the end of games. Accept it for what it was and don't try to make it something epoch that will go down in 49er lore. Tonges should see a lot more actionnow with Kittle out again for several weeks. Tonges is a good receiver but he can't block ike Kittle so the pass pro and the running game may suffer.
Seriously hopefully he can be ok until Kittle gets back. One nice game does not make him a great player. After he puts some good outings together including good blocking then I'd say ok he can be tight end number 2. Glad he came through but let's not over react lol.

The question you should be asking is "will George Kittle even get his job back?"

Lynch should be fielding trade calls right now.

It's rare to find a TE that doesn't body catch and can extend and attack the ball.
They should be featuring tonges a lot more and developing that even if he still has other issues...
You can't teach guys to catch like that...

walk on at Cal, not even a long term starter over 5 years... FA signing in NFL.. but ya he has great hands, shownn on that first NFL reception where Brocky threw low and to the inside, he stretched out and caught that with both hands text book style... then of course the TD was another textbook legit catch... fun to watch him develop more as he will for sure push beyond the Ross Dwelley envelope

Proved he needs more playing time.
Provides an excellent addition for 2 TE sets.
