The cap is probably the silver lining to this news since none of his remaining salary is guaranteed.

The bonuses weren't GTD so he was never getting them IMO, at least not the option bonus, but thankfully this saves them $5.392M in 2026 and $11.708M in 2027.

This came totally out of nowhere. but you could see toward the end of the season that he was avoiding contact. Something got pulled or strained.
