No thank you. We need someone who's available to play and doesn't lose his composure at the slightest bit of pressure.

That's an interesting point. Maybe Salah didn't have a spot for him in Tenn. I think if he could be a 450 snap a year guy with a good rush around him, he could be helpful. He was good early on, then we lost fred nick and mykel and his body couldn't keep up.

I feel like this money was basically shifted to Osa Odighizuwa. We'll see if they add though.

I don't think there's any way Huff was playing for us next year under his existing deal.

what the.

This came totally out of nowhere. but you could see toward the end of the season that he was avoiding contact. Something got pulled or strained.

Sounds like he just saved us 5.5M, thank you sir.

Maybe he'll feel better in August.

Give that money to Dre.

Trents issue is gtd money. We've already pushed the cap hit he's going to create into future years for a 37 year old player in order to keep giving into his demands of playing with GTD money. His cap hit alone this season is over 38 million and if we rework the deal yet again like it sounds his side wants it just pushes that punishment further down.

If you trade/cut him you have a 34m dead cap charge which you can take all of this season or spread it over this year and next (post 6/1 designation). Let's just say they decided to eat it all this year… you are saving 4m in cap space (and you have a massive hole at LT).

If you play out his final year you lose the 4m in cap space and take a dead cap charge of 21m next season.

Still wouldn't want him...he was worthless on this team.

No he wasn't.

Playing out his final year may not be an option for him without GTD money, that's when a potential holdout has happened in the past. Not saying to get rid of Trent, but personally we should draft the best OT we can get our hands on in the draft as insurance in case he plays this game again if it's play this season on the deal you've made or retire.

Playing the run is about effort and he gave zero to that side of the ball. As soon as the stars started falling due to injury and he was forced to play more snaps he was exposed by other teams as incapable of beating a game plan designed to slow him down and he pretty much started playing like a guy who's making executive decisions just collecting a pay check. To be honest not even surprised he retired.

Yep, I'm pretty sure you aren't seeing the team's angle here. See the Trent thread for more info.
I liked him as a situational/15 snaps per game guy. Decently effective there. Once he had to play full time the wheels fell off. Not his fault, not what we brought him in for but that's life

Im not talking about the run and that's not why he was brought here. And you just said it yourself why he started getting exposed . He served his role and was hardly worthless. The rest of your post is a lot of assumption
