But hopefully Saleh can work his magic with him. Gives us a speed rusher on obvious pass downs. Hoping the compensation isn't anything serious.

so he never even played vs. the Chiefs?

He did not. He was a healthy scratch for the superbowl. We chose to play a retiring Brandon graham who only had 1 arm over him

Yeah, Brandon Graham was a stud for you guys for a long time. I remember when he was coming out of college. Dude had a hell of a career. One of those guys who never got a ton of accolades but was reliable for a long time.

Huff was just a bad fit for the eagles defensive scheme and he's not a good edge setter. I don't believe he's good at coverage etc. he's really only good at pass rush, which is fine for what we are asking him to do. So if he's being asked to do that other stuff here, I imagine he would be a major disappointment.

I feel confident that Saleh knows how to utilize him best from their history together. I hope he can ball out blitzing for us - it's a rare win/win for both teams, which is kinda cool.

Eagles made a mistake paying him, no big deal. It happens to every team. They at least acknowledge it and are doing their best to cut losses and try to find someone that can contribute with that roster spot.

I love BG. He's an eagles legend. But he was 6 weeks out of having a torn tricep. We chose to play him with one arm over huff. He actually retore that tricep in the first quarter. He's an animal tho finished that game

Always nice to see other teams fans on here, anything you can say about Huff? I know the scheme wasn't a fit, since he played inn a 4-3 W9 scheme in NY, & you guys run a 3-4 scheme.

Also as a 49ers fan I have to congratulate you guys on the SB win, I wanted you guys over the Chiefs, so happy they got denied a 3 peat even though it seemed like the NFL wanted it.

Best of luck this season, and yes Brandon Graham is a legend for the Eagles, but nothing but love, not gonna trash talk you guys, big fan of Barkley, I live in NY, so I've seen a lot of Barkley, the Giants messed up paying Daniel Jones and not Saquon.

I appreciate the welcome! I lived my whole life in Philly. I actually met my now wife in New York and moved to New York about 2 years ago. So let's just say it was quite fun walking around this city in my Saquon Barkley eagles gear haha. I just think huff was a brutal fit. We projected him out to be more than what he was. Thought he could develop into a 3 down de. He couldn't do it. And what made it a really bad is when we tried him in his old role as a pass rush specialist he couldn't do that either. I think he got in his head. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if he's back to his jets level production with you guy. He is still young and didn't strike me as a guy who isn't a hard worker.

Nice, I'd be rocking the Saquon Eagles gear if I was you too lol, and what part of NY are you from? I'm near the state capital of Albany.

elite level get off and pressure rate. Think Ngakoue, Ford or Avril.

With the addition of Huff do you still feel like Mykel will be a 10 sack guy?

There were some articles that stated Mykel told the 49ers during his pre-draft visit, that he wanted or preferred rushing from the inside. He will have a big length advantage over any guard he goes up against. And with a pass rush package of Bosa/Huff outside and Mykel/West on the inside, someone is bound to get loose!
Idgaf about any outside noise, he's got talent / skill and was a Saleh disciple in the past. There's no doubt that Saleh had much to say about getting him in here. Enough said. They'll make it work in his system.

Another dude Saleh liked a lot and will be on the 53 is Chazz Surratt. He and Huff are good additions and will prove it on gameday

The upside is there, maybe at some point…as a rookie, that's asking a lot

It's not a simple equation. If Martin, Warner, and Winters are super dominant Williams will get more sacks on early downs. If Collins is next to Bosa and is immovable than Bosa will push more QBs to Williams as lines slant away from Williams. If the 49ers are dominant on offense then there will be more obvious passing downs which results in more efforts to get the QB.

Can Huff, Bosa, and Williams all get 10+ sacks? Sure. Probably not likely.

One thing we do know is that Saleh is willing to send LBs and DBs too, so that could be interesting too.

Lions losing Ragnow will hurt. He was the brain of the OL. They will miss his recognition as much as his physical contribution.

ONLY on paper... one thing we've learned in the past, well, since I started watching NFL (1981), it's all about the year you are having...

RAGNOW and his presence will all be forgotten by week 5... the lost of their OC and DC will be noticed more.. .especially their OC..

GOFF's playing well again because of 26, he was this good when he had Gurley w/the Rams.

One of the moves I like the most by the Front Office the last few years. He's really a great fit for that D-Line. The Niners missed an explosive pass rusher like Huff basically since Dee Ford. Ebukam was really good but not that good IMHO. Huff reminds me of Ford. I really hope it's gonna work for him because he could be the missing piece. I remember how good Dee Ford was when he was "healthy" in 2019. It sucks that he had all these injuries. He was a gamechanger on Defense. Let's hope that Bryce Huff can play at his Jets level.

I'm still in disbelief that the giants just let him walk. Lol as soon as I saw he went to Philly, I was like damn, he'll crush it there. Awesome O Line, weapons, rushing threat at qb.

I love to watch the eagles lose but I also have to give respect to a well ran organization. Especially one with such a demanding fan base. Philly fans can be nuts. Lol

it was like watching the Seahawks dismantle the broncos. Hated to see them win but had to respect what they just did. Lol
