It is frustrating, however, on the wider view, Brendel is ranked right in the middle of starting NFL Centers. Half the teams in the league would rather have Brendel than the guy they ended with last year.
There are a couple of guys currently on the roster that will push him for the starting job. Let's see how it works out.

I have one big concern from a personal level heading into next season. The 49ers have 5 prime time games so no problem there. My concern is with the other games. I live in Oregon where games are split between the Seahawks and 49ers. The Seahawks have the rights so unless they're playing in a different time slot the Niner game won't be shown here. Then it comes down to game matchups and which game the networks want to show. With the Niners weak schedule they're less likely to get the nod. I'll have to find a bar that shows the games but I hate watching games in a noisy bar.

the same concerns we've had every year under Kyle and Lynch. OL, QB, and health.

I'm not sure who will step up this year and who impresses in camp / preseason, but as it stands now, the team's biggest concern is safety, in my opinion. Sure, they signed some guys and a rookie (who I like), but no one knows how that's going to turn out.
Mustapha was the only proven there, and now we find out he might be ready day 1. They still haven't secured the FS (Brown sucks) position and depth (unless one of the new guys steps up) is a bigger issue than the offensive line. At least the Oline has plenty of guys in line to compete.
And yes, I still think the oline is concerning at this point.
Everything can change after we see how these guys perform in preseason and a couple regular season games. Maybe they have a couple of gems and solid back ups already (safety / oline), but until it's proven on the field, we really don't know s**t...VERY concerning.

Biggest concern is TW. Where is he? Will be play? Without him and CMC this will be another season of struggle

the thing with me, GGGore, is there's so many streams to try to maneuver, it feels like I'm being relocated to Minnesota.
[um, that may be a bad joke/analogy. but perhaps you get what I'm sayin'?

Like the move when finalized to add a pass rusher like Huff who knows this scheme. Now, Safety and WR are areas that seem thin. Not sure if they have enough talent at S even when they're all healthy. At WR, the big ? is Aiyuk coming off that type of injury. Not ready to write him off for the whole season. Hopefully, he can come back and be effective at some point in the first half of the season.

They did a lot to remake the defense adding Saleh, the draft picks and now the Huff trade. If they can improve the average points per game allowed from 25 to 21, the offense should be good enough to win most games.

i feel better about QB, now the brock deal is done, and it's a pretty strong deal for the team. my concerns are WR, DB, IDL and K. i'd like to see additions at WR and DB especially.

Health is always a thing for ever team in every sport.
For me it's the defense as a whole, not just run stopping. If they stop the run but can't stop the pass it's not close to good enough.
Health should fix the red zone issues from last year, but I expect there to be fewer big plays than in the past with Deebo gone.

I'll be very interested to see the kicking competition this summer. Right now, I don't see how you can go into the season with him as the kicker, especially with all the ST turnaround. I don't think he has it. But I'd love to see him prove me wrong.
I think Joseph will be our Kicker this season.
