If only 7-10 days then he should be ready week 1, like I said cut him to keep someone like Connor Colby or Junior Bergen on the 53, so you're not exposing them to waivers.

Team needs to be strategic about who goes on IR to return, Givens can be 1 of the 2 that get placed on IR but takes 1 of the 8 allowed back leaving 7 + 2 in the playoffs, I don't think they'll put Cowing or Watkins on IR, need to save those spots for in season injuries, but again it does depend on injury length.

I agree it's a bit overblown, team still has enough WRs for week 1, guys like Gage, Chosen & Hodgins don't go through waivers, so they can sign with the 49ers' practice squad the next day, best to keep the young guys signed for a few more yrs like Watkins, Cowing, & Bergen, I can see the 49ers signing all 3 vets as 3 of their 6 allowed players with more than 2 accrued seasons.

Agreed. Thats why I think 49ers only keep 4 WRs on the "initial" 53 in order to make room for other needs.

Honestly those are the only differences I have, I'd have 2-3 veteran WRs(Gage, Hodgins, & Chosen) on the PS, same with Wilson at RB, and I'd have Gipson on the PS since he doesn't need to clear waivers.

I really do not see Aiyuk helping this team much at all this season, provided he returns at all. It takes two full seasons for a player to trust a busted knee again. Aiyuk might be given a clean bill of health at some point. But the real battle is mental.

I agree with you on all of them with the caveat that all of those bubble players better be hoping a player the 49ers like at their position isn't cut.

Looks like Jakob Robinson has a broken forearm, so he goes to IR, which is fine since they'll have a chance to look at him for 2026, same with Corey Kiner.

After hearing Cowing's severity of the hamstring, yeah he goes on IR/DFR with Givens as the two who can be placed on the list without having to be on the initial 53.

The rest looks good, though I really hope they keep Valdez & Moss on the 53, idk if they clear waivers, same for Bergen, but we have a little over 52 hours if I'm calculating right, since the cutdown is Tuesday at 4pm EST/1pm PST.

Agreed. Might keep Valdez if they go with less CBs. I am worried about Moss as well. Notice, not much hype about him lately which makes me think they are going to try and sneak him through waivers.
