i think what a lot of fans don't realize is that every team has to make those tough decisions on young players they think have potential and just need time. So im sure most PS are filled by guys they also cut.

Yeah you are right. 29 players were claimed off waivers today based off a report on nfltraderumors.com. I don't know what the average is per year but for this year it's less than 1 player per team.

With the record we had last year, and all the known holes we have on the roster, a lot of teams may have assumed if we didn't want them, they shouldn't either.

That's not how it works out. Eagles had zero players claimed and Jaguars had at least 3 players claimed and the Saints had 2 players claimed.

Every team has a list of player rankings for players on other teams. But to make a claim the player you liked you have to have liked them more than the player currently on your 53, and you have to go in knowing they won't be ready for week 1 with new coaches, new system, new teammates.

49ers re-signed P Thomas Morstead to a one-year deal and placed WR Jacob Cowing on the Injured Reserve List.

The #49ers placing WR Jacob Cowing on injured reserve now doesn't require them to designate him to return. It seems likely that he will, but the team won't be required to decide until that becomes a reality.

The team has used 1 of 8 return designations so far on DL Kevin Givens. https://t.co/PwhAnsJxva

Once final roster cuts are done I don't believe anyone needs to have a designation until they are ready to be brought back.

Jefferson over Anderson - interesting, need to take a look at Jefferson. Definitely a higher pedigree player than Anderson, but other than that Im not familiar with his game yet
No players claimed from Niner cuts - kinda confirms that this roster has way less talent on the backside than previous rosters
Russell Gage not making it to PS is a bit surprising. Thought he might have a chance to start at WR week 1 but I guess MVS and Chosen are here instead
