strange on the pats was cut. A former first round pick in 2022. Anyone think he would be an upgrade here? Idk much about him but I love a high round o line pick!

Just read that Clelen Ferrel was just cut by Wash. I thought he was decent when he was with us. I wonder if Shanny/Saleh will make him an offer.

There are several vets cut that are very likely going to sign with their original teams. It happens every year. Not much different than us cutting Morestead.

I would be all over Dan Skipper but I'm like 99% sure he's just going to sign back with Detroit. I think Ferrell may be in the same boat.

But honestly I'm also not sure who we'd cut for him. He's a better run edge and we have that with Mykel and YGM.

Maybe he would actually play, unlike YGM. I like the dudes attributes but he seems to rarely play
Braydon Swinson was cut too. I know some on here liked him in the draft

Jerrett Kingston was cut

Would love to see them get him back. But I think they're set with Drew Moss and Conor Colby.

In one pre-season weekend he was the top rated center by PFF.

Um....he couldnt beat out Brendel so.....

Kingston didn't play center with the 49ers and was cut and claimed.

Drafted in 2024 by the 49ers and cut......couldnt beat out Brendel?

I think the confusion is the 49ers didn't use him at center at all, and in this year in the preseason he was playing center and graded out well. He never had a chance to beat out Brendel.

IIRC, the FO took a chance he would clear waivers and be resigned. They expressed disappointment at that.
Feel like we should get a separate thread on other teams cuts lol. So much dumpster diving !

Chris Paul Jr being released is definitely a surprise to me. Fifth round pick and outright cut. Haven't followed Rams TC news aside from Staffords back becoming like Tracy McGrady's back. What happened ?

Esa Pole was already mentioned.

Jalen Mills is a vet safety who has experience playing for Saleh. Doesnt make much sense with Mustapha and Sigle in the wings, but anyone over Jayir Brown please. Lol. Most likely many vets will re-sign with their "old" teams anyway.

KJ Osborn is intriguing at WR, a bit more juice than someone like Gage or Hodgins at WR

Sam Womack got cut, he out there if we want to kick tires on him again.

Rakim Jarrett would be more steady as a returner than Skyy Moore imo
Another trash receiver

Starter at LG if they pick him up. *Spoiler- Pick used on Strange, was originally ours that was traded to Miami for Trey Lance.* It would recoup one of our 1st round pick back

I wouldn't be mad. But there's gotta be better veterans out there. I would've been fine with Malik Turner on the 53.

Pff had him 61 out of 64 centers in 24.

Better - probably
Cheaper - maybe not

I think whoever we bring in will be based on $$$ more than talent.

MVS can grab a deep ball which is nice. Every time it goes to him though it's 50-50 on whether he catches it.

RE: That's why they might as well went with a young WR.
With all of the earlier predictions, did anyone get it correct?

I guess if all they see is a deep threat who will be a 4-6 game rental before reinforcements come then it makes more sense, but yeah, I tend to agree that a younger player with the opportunity to stick for longer would be nice.

C+ we have some legit top end talent, a lot of promising but unproven players and at this point almost no depth. If they have fantastic injury luck then this is a playoff team. If they have recent 49er injury luck we may be looking at a decent pick in the first round next year.
