It's a bit shocking as to how poor our GM is at evaluating the position in f/a and the draft considering he's a HOFER at the position. Even more so when they let the only real successful guy they found I nearly 9 years walk as a FA.

I'm hoping we hire some outside talent evaluation team to give Some perspective.
I was harping on for him to play but man that was a rough game to watch. He was lost.
Kid is very good in the run game, but needs a ton of work in pass coverage

He was a box safety and keeps drafting box safeties
I knew it was all smoke and mirrors when he came in and played good in the game against Philly.

Yeah...wild actually. He was GREAT in that game. Coming in for Brown he made several impact plays in that game. I thought maybe sitting on the bench for a while helped slow things down for him.

Then...that game.

I'm still rooting for the kid and he's got talent but hopefully an offseason will help boost his ability but even with that if we don't go into next season with him counted on as depth then we're making a major mistake.

Overall it feels like this regime may need a change in mindset. They've been reluctant to invest in OL and secondary early on. I get the reasoning behind it but moving forward we have to build up our team to ensure more success against our biggest competition. Rams and Seattle both have strong pass rush so OL needs to be more of a priority and they both have elite WRs and strong running game. Our corners were ok but our safety play was horrible. Hurt us big time in both phases of the game and we absolutely have to get better there.

I can't keep thinking about us taking Nick Martin with Xavier Watts still on the board.

That was a real kick in the nuts, especially since Martin was slated to go until next round . Can't keep doing s**t like that

Yeah honestly there were so many players I wanted with that pick I had a hard time choosing who I preferred. Watts, Jared Wilson, Princely Umanmielen, Jordan Burch, Jaylin Noel, Kevin Winston, Jacob Parrish, Savion Williams, Wyatt Milum, Charles Grant....LOTS.

Perfect way how I felt from how the draft started to that pick.
