He needs to be better. Gets beat too often right now.

Mustapha FS

36 ALREADY better than Mustapha !!

No he's not.

Yeah Malik showed more last year than Sigle has this year but I can't wait to see them back there together. Sigle has been taking his lumps but he's out there battling.

I think he will be fine. He's young and a great athlete. He made some real good plays this year too which guys quickly forget. Even some of the completions tonight he was right in there battling with his hand and arm in the way. Just barely got through to the TE. He was in good position and had good technique.
Well at least he broke up one pass play today Dude is definitely being picked on. Guy has been good versus the run though. Gotta have to take the good with the bad right now.

He's never been that badly out of position. I will take a step behind while he learns rather than falling down being burned.

We have seen that before with other players.

He is definitely showing promise but he's taking his lumps early it seems.

I agree. Sigle is a fantastic tackler and helped make the game winning stop. He's not bad at coverage, just needs to improve on finding the ball a bit and can tighten up the coverage a little which will come with experience.

I'm not worried about him. He's better than Brown who would for sure get roasted and constantly caught out of position despite being a vet.

He's better than Brown right now by a lot. Should get better too.

For a rookie he's hanging in there. Can't expect perfection. I think he's got a bright future.
10 days to watch film and work on those correctable mishaps... he was stride for stride with his man many times and in his face at times. the next step ball location / awareness. I could imagine this dude will be lights out after several more games and playing alongside MM
something else to consider- if we are going to play a lot of zone and two deep shell like most teams do these days to make opponents dink and dunk...having a sure tackler at safety is extremely important because it makes dink and dunks a lot harder

this was the problem with Brown, he could not do either tackling or covering well, and those missed tackles by him would hurt us

Sigle barely misses tackles even with tougher guys and in open field (there was one forced by Benson in the AZ game but Sigle was moving sideways and took a weak angle)

Matt Maiocco ?
They went after him in coverage for sure but he shows up in the run game. He was in good position on some of the passes and some he wasn't.

if he gets better in coverage he'd be a pro bowler.

real quick he was hero. And f**k all the fans hating on him cause TuTu runs a 4.2 40 and has time to run a deep crosser. Ed Reed couldn't cover that

What about the other 9 plays he couldn't cover tonight?

The TE made a great catch Sigel tried to rake it out. Another tough throw and catch made over him but he was in phase. But you're the guy who called game over cause McVay was coaching to win. How'd that work out for him?
😂 yeah, not too good for McVay. And I was hard on Shanahan for calling 3 run plays at the end too. I thought it didn't matter if the Rams had 40 seconds and 1 timeout or zero timeouts since they were going to get in FG range.

I felt like I saw this movie numerous times already and knew how it was going to end. Really glad we were able to stop them!

But for Marques Sigle, what are people seeing? Before last nights game, he was rated like the 113th best safety in the league. He's literally one of the worst according to PFF. And he's not passing the 'eyeball' test if not going off grades. He's constantly getting beat over and over and has barely made any plays. I want to atleast see some flashes.

Upton Stout is a comparison where he's had his fair share of poor plays but he's atleast flashing a few times here and there where there might be something there.
