CMC is currently the 8th leading receiver in the NFL right now.

How is he in rushing? I really wish the 49ers followed my advice or making CMC a WR to replace Deebo and draft Scattabo to play RB.

20th in yards rushing but only avg 3.1 ypc ranking him 41st in the league all with the 2nd most carries in this early season

What o lineman did want them to draft along with Skattebo

I wanted to trade back in the first and draft Conerly to play RT and then switch to LT when Williams retires or gets hurt and then use a 3rd we get from trading back to draft Wilson at Center. That way our line would have been from left to right Williams, McKvitz, Wilson, Puni, and Conerly. In the Second I wanted who we got. I have been begging for us to get Oline help for 3 years.
We finally saw him get some pt and looked solid.
We need more younger & faster guys to place around Brock & this offense. Give the kid some reps & help take touches from CMC to keep him healthy

This is my biggest complaint with Kyle aside o-line. James looked fresh. Kyle needs to rotate in his rookies. Simple as that.

Think there's a big discussion to be had about offensive rookies under Kyle. I can't wrap my head around how Watkins got no looks late in the year with how desperate we were for speed and separation. Same with James. Our running game was not good and he refuses to use a change of pace.

One of the few somewhat bright spots was seeing James last night. Definitely looks like he's got some burst.

Kyle has a little of that Phil Jackson thing where the Legends/HOFers get to do what they want. We haven't drafted a replacement for Trent Williams because Kyle doesn't want another guy looking over Trent's shoulder and the media questioning if the new guy is better every time Trent gives up a pressure.

He did the same thing for Staley.

Same reason why CMAC gets all the touches in the RB room when we know the other guys have game breaking speed.

Now the stories Jimmy Ward and Deebo told about seeing the writing on the wall when they didn't get superstar treatment make perfect sense.

The press never asks Kyle this simple question.
I've been asking all f**king year where Jordan James was. The 49ers obviously need some young legs in the backfield.

I know he's a good back, because I watched in at Oregon. There was really no drop off between him and Bucky Irving, who is having a good start to his career.

Can James pass block? That might be the reason why he was not on the field more. The play selection would be very limited you don't trust him to pass block, and that would be a big issue.

wasted season for JJ, all because of Shanny...

Its not just that. Kyle values execution over anything else, and his system is quite rigid. See why Tonges couldnt get any burn when Kittle was healthy. Hes got a playcall and he wants whoever is available in that position, the #1 guy to be the guy. Hes never been a "we have specific talent here so lets try to cater to players strengths".

This means all rookies have a double wall to get through because they dont know the system and it takes a while to learn. And if they make a mistake they get set back. But how are they not going to mistake when theyre rookies ?

The only option is if rookie is so talented they will blow the incumbent vet out of the water. This doesnt happen often because they havent drafted well. And its like a vicious feedback loop because they dont draft for BPA. They draft for need at the position which is dictated by the system. They dont draft in a way of "heres a guy with a unique skillset that can extend our system and bring an extra element to it", they draft in a way of "we need a backup TE for our scheme, lets get someone who can be that". That's how you end up with Latu's.

+100. This is probably the most insightful post I've read on the zone.

Given it's been 9 years now in this regime, do you see the approach ever changing?
The question is can he pass protect. If so, then give him heavy snaps
