Not the specific players I imagined but definitely the same idea I had pre draft

New DL should be nasty and our defense should be fun to watch
Mykel, West, Anderson & Collins. Nobody running on that line. Bosa designated pass rush specialist lol.

Medrano of UCLA is someone they met with a few times. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets picked up in the 5th somewhere.

Lol

west is a player I like, may be the best player we've drafted so far.
What a ****ing pick!!!!!

Let's goooo!!!

80% of all my mock simulations picked CJ West at #113

Makes up for reaching on Martin and Stout - just pretending they drafted West at #75 and Martin at #100 and Stout at #113.
Loving it guys. I had different ideas at the start but damn this is turning out to be smart, strategic, defensive changing moves. I'm okay with some OL help now.

Lets go!

And with Collins and West unlikely to offer a ton of pass rusher, we'll probably see Kevin Givens rotate in on pass rush downs, as well as Mykel and Yetur getting some snaps inside on occasion.

I like West and his value more than Collins

Collins will be the beef he wont likely put up the stats but he is going to keep the LB clean to make plays

West has been able to do that as well. IMO you should be investing those higher in picks in 3 down guys that can actually rush the passer.

I love that they beefed up the DL. They still haven't improved the pass rush, especially from the interior

Yes. West was one of those guys who just seemed like a Niner. Nick Martin was too, but like you said, I didn't see him being taken that early.

My vision for the new DL was SB Ravens with Adams and Siragusa in the middle

I thought we needed Grant + Williams in rounds 1 and 2 to pull it off

We found an alternative path there but it looks to be a similar idea

Stuff the hell out of the run and let the LBs fly

Only Shanahan and Lynch would invest 275 mil in their QB, let 1/3 of the roster leave to pay for it, and then totally ignore the crappy OL protecting that QB. Going to be a lot of 13-6 losses in our future.
LFG!

when was the last time a Shanahan offense is scoring less than 20 on a regular basis?

Last year the OL wasn't the problem it was our run D.

Kyle could say; "this o-line got us to a Super Bowl". I know we didn't win it but hey, his average o-line guys have earned us a second place finish. 😆
Really like this pick. Becoming a young & aggressive defense very quickly
