He's far better than that as an athlete. Better coming out too. He was the better College player. It's an insult to compare him to that. I think he will be better.

It's not an insult, it's just not a parallel comparison.

Sounds ok to me. But people have to realize he's more athletic than DJ Jones and tested out as such. He was a beast at Indiana in College. This dude is really a good player and yes he is a steal IMO. Better than where he was drafted. He plays well, productive, strong, quick, fast for his size, explosive, excellent overall athlete. He is the type of guy who would go higher except for his height. That's all that pushed him down a bit. A little taller and he's 1st or 2nd round and I expect he will play like that billing too.

I love everything I've seen from CJ both on the field and off the field so far. He was one of my favorite picks in the draft in terms of slotting and player being selected.

Having said that...he has yet to play any REAL NFL football. Until then saying he's better than DJ Jones is just not fair. I hope he is, I think he's tracking to be but until he proves it on the field it's stupid to say it's an insult to compare him to a very good and consistent NFL vet of 8 years.

I understand what you are saying. He's a better athlete than DJ Jones and more explosive. That we can say right now. He is better coming out of College IMO than Jones was. People use the comparison because they are around the same size and both played for the 49ers at least at some time period. But I think the more explosive and athletic guy is CJ West. An inch or 2 taller and he would be 1st or 2nd round. He was a beast at Indiana. A game changer. I think he has a chance to be one of our best in the entire draft class. Plus considered a steal in the overall draft class league wide.

Of course he needs to play some real NFL reps. Perhaps he will learn and grow for a while. But I think eventually you will see it big time. Just my opinion. This is assuming he stays healthy. I think he's much better than where he was drafted as a player.
Dude is a beast. He's basically a bigger DJ. Just pencil him in now as a week 1 starter. The way he split that double team against the run, and got great pressure on a pass attempt

Beat me to it. CJ has a chance to be more than just a base down nose.

Exactly 👍🏻 he's already a better pass rusher/disruptor and will be a lot better imo

That's good news. Just get them both back for the season. Man all the injuries with this team. We got to be the most injured team in preseason and training camp. Unbelievable this is happening again.

Man Kyle looked like "what the f**k" when he was just reporting on CJ's injury. Seemed like, how the hell does this keep happening? He's as stumped as the next person.
Good thing its not long term, heal up quick big guy!

Maybe he should have his team stretch for at least an hour before practice

Getting the injuries out of the way early on
People need to stop getting excited about players. It makes them get injured

They clearly need to be doing something different. Tired of all these injuries. The Niners seem to have more than their fair share.
