I used Joe Montana, but I think he wants an example from the last 9 years.

Oh just out of the range of making a point.. how convenient…

Convent? I think it has to do with being under this regime…..

We've been reaching way before this regime. In fact the only players I see as a reach is Moody and Pearsall maybe Solomon? Pretty sure he was one of the top DE prospects that year. Even Trey was expected to go at least top 10 if not top 5

I was answering too examples from the past 9 years. It's not convience, the conversation was about this regime. Yes; I know we been reaching way before this regime.

There is much MUCH more than just Moody and Pearsall; all of the examples were provided on previous pages. I can easily name many off the top of my head because that's how bad it was….

Wish
CJ Beathard
Latu
TDP
Pettis
Sermon
Moody
The list goes on

If you really want to dig you can go to each of these guys draft threads and many of us called it a reach and many of us knew it was stupid picks that wouldn't work out. Consensus big boards are more often right than wrong IMO; too each their own on that cause I ain't trying to debate anyone, my stance will not change.

The exclamation points for me with this regime will be that nobody will EVER convince me that Wish and Moody were….. (Shoot you can add all the names I provided lol)

1. Best players available
2. Wouldn't be available later

@07 my mistake; the "previous pages" are all in the Nick Martin thread. That's where NY and Scoots been discussing this topic

So dumb lmao

it's really not dumb, the dude will have a better chance making it as a FB than a DT

So you want to waste a 4th round pick, on a guy that's never played FB....

Stick to Madden

It's only a waste if he doesn't make the team.. he'll be an awesome FB in a year or 2 but he'll never be a legit DT in the league..

did you know that Lester Hayes was a LB in college?

"Reaching" in later rounds is a bit ridiculous outside of kickers things start to get murky in actual draft boards, maybe I give you pettis and wish on that list.

You consider 2nd and 3rds "later rounds?" We can agree to disagree there. Only person on my list that wasn't that is Wish; but a punter drafted in the 4th round is sure AF not late for a punter.

I'm arguing that you don't know. You have data to support your opinion, but that doesn't make it a fact that any one player at any one pick was an overdraft or not.

omg stop being dumb. I have plenty of joy in my life. I enjoy my football plenty. I can point out flaws in a team, objectively without saying dumb things like "do you experience joy"

There's a large enough sample size to show what they're doing is not helping the team. Yes they do reach more than anyone else in the league…not my problem if you can't grasp that or refuse to.

I'm talking about this regime. Always have been. That's the data I've used…if you don't think they've reach (especially on day 2) fine, I'll disagree with that take.

We've reached more than anyone in the first 3 rds. I also agree thar "reaching" in late rds isn't as important.

also this has nothing to do with West. Loved the pick and where they got him.
After a few weeks of digesting the draft, this is the pick I love more and more everytime I look at it

The question was do you get joy when they win. If you do that's good. I have friends who only seem to be critical of their teams even when they win they are not really happy. They are obsessed by every flaw or failure regardless of the outcome.

The thing about a "reach" is definitional. I still don't know if your definition is only based on internet big boards or do other facts not in evidence to the public at the time of the draft change the results of whether a player is a reach or not?

Back on CJ ... this year is going to be a lot of fun watching the DL for the first time since Buckner was shipped out.

I'm not gonna go on about this in multiple threads. All I've discussed is how over the past 8+ yrs they've reached on players in the draft more than any other team….if you want to further define what "reaching" is to change the narrative or prove that it's not true, have at it. I will disagree, the proof is in the pudding. Look at the players that were considering reaches and how often it was a bad pick for this team (especially on day 2). This isn't some secret or something that hasn't been talked about after every draft.

When you start trying to make stuff personal like do I find joy in things, that's when I know your debate is done and lacks any real substance.

Moving on
