It's what I'm wondering, too. He was placed on IR just before the Colts game and it's supposed to be four games. Does that mean four regular season games or just four games total to include the playoffs? If he's healthy now from his concussion and can return, this team could definitely use him.

Can Martin be brought back from IR, or is his season done?

49ers brass will sign me to play LB before playing Martin

What are your stats...
Hight, weight, 40 time, shuttle speed and vertical?
After watching the Seattle game I'm open to it.

They have to open up his "practice window" For 2 weeks if im not mistaken and then they get to chose to active him or put him on season ending IR.

They have to open his practice window but I believe they can activate him immediately as well. They have the two weeks to decide to activate him or keep him on IR.

If I'm Nick Martin and I love football and am ultra-competitive (and have no concussion symptoms), I see this as my golden opportunity given all the LB injuries and the playoffs starting. I use every bit of the talent I was born with and I work my ass off in practice to show the coaches I can very effectively execute my role in this scheme and should be playing right now as much as possible. Then, come game time vs. the Eagles, I build off of what I showed in practice and go above and beyond because I have the talent to do so - I show what I can do as a playmaking LB in helping this team play winning football.

Do that at this opportune (and needed) time and it will not only help the team immensely in these playoffs but also position him well going into the offseason in prepping and building up for 2026.

I don't believe you can practice while on ir

If he could do all that now, why hasn't he done it in the past?

He was overdrafted. Consider him an early 3rd day pick that needs more development.

When he's off of IR/cleared I meant.

I'm still holding out hope he can. He's only a rookie. Am hoping what the Niners saw in him as a 3rd Rd. pick starts to show itself after having a full season getting to know the NFL, this D scheme, and hopefully understanding how he can use his abilities to be a playmaker within this D's framework.

One can hope. Trying to consider all possibilities now with all the injuries and going into a tough playoff run.
I thought Martin was put on season ending IR already.

Yahoo sports says he's eligible to return next week.

Something though isn't right with him and how the team treats him. We know he's an oddball with his weird slippers and shoes, but there's got to be something else other than talent that has Saleh not touching him with a 100' pole.

He's out for this game, can come off if/when we win.
The real question is whether he's out of the concussion protocol

Is he?
