keeping these guys fresh with a rotation will be key i want a run stuffer in the draft (late or even UDFA) Then with having a healthy Warner and greenlaw behind him i really do have hopes we can get back to an elite run D forcing teams to throw leading to a few more TO

Yea depth is great, but weren't Williams, Collins, & West drafted to be the run stuffers?

Yes they were. I think Williams has proven to be effective. Collins has to get into better shape to show he can play more snaps. A guy drafted at 43 should be a clear starter in year 2. I wont say we can't stand to add another run defender bit that shouldn't be a priority with the investment last year.

With that said, the poster did say late (we don't have any late picks though) or an UDFA. In theory, we should be set at DT however between Osa, Collins, West, and Anderson. Not to mention Williams and White getting some snaps inside.
I think West wins the 1Tech for us on the DL and starts this year

So Osa and West inside with Collins coming off the bench?

West would be giving Osa and Collins a breather

I wish for both of them to make big leaps this year. It will help our dline out immensely from the interior.
This guy got a lot better as the year went on. Should have an off season of professional prep. I'm excited to see what kind of leap he takes. West, Collins, and Osa are a nice trio.

mix Mykel in that with diff packages and then hopefully we drsft or trade for a nice pass rusher.

Not saying this is fact, but I think Collins is about to become a household name. What would hold him back is bad offseason preparation habits.

That would be great. He had some really nice flashes. Idk if he was out of shape or had to just adjust to the speed of the game, but he def settled in throughout the season.

I think our run defense is going to be a lot better, since everyone is healthy.

bosa, mykel, osa, collins, and west are all quality run stoppers, at worst. Then factor in healthy Greenlaw and Warner. That's pretty nice.

now add mustapha, a year after his major injury. Not too shabby
I think we can make a prediction on how good or bad Collins' season will be based on how he shows up looking at OTAs and camp. I want to see a leaner and more jacked Collins coming into year 2.

He should follow Osa around the weight room, and he'll be good.

He really got thrown into the fire last season with all the injuries and lack of DT depth. I still don't get where the hype is other than he's really big? Osa was such a good move. The addition of Osa and the return of Greenlaw really puts him in position to properly develop.

I'm not expecting an all pro season but I think he will be a valuable piece to our team. His run defense should improve. Having guys like Bosa, Mykel, and Osa around him should help him get more
opportunities to make a big impact. Would be awesome. I like west too. I think west can be a better pass rusher than Collins but both are studs in the run game and should get better.

The Niners, like most teams rotate D linemen a lot to keep them fresh or to use them is certain situations. You can never have too many guys that can play even if it's just for a few downs.

Williams plays a different position. And yes they all were but Collins, West, and Osa are the locks to make the roster so i would argue depth can be improved at the DT position. Also Osa is more of a pass rushing DT than run stuffing which is why i ould want another space eater
