According to some Nancy in here, if Bosa doesn't break sack record, Huff doesn't get 12+ sacks and the rooks don't tie for rookie of the year award, our Dline is pretty much meh and close to trash

Did I get that right sir, did I get that right?

I saw flashes out of both Collins and Williams yesterday. Both showed flashes of the types of players they are destined to become. Provided they stay healthy and upright, I expect to see continued flashes of excellence from these two. By the eighth or ninth game of this season, they will really begin to assert themselves as great players on a rebuilt 49er defense.

Completely agree 💯 it is very exciting to see what this defense will be around mid-season for sure. Both guys missed alot of time in camp & preseason so are beginning to play better.

I see a player who is starting to think less and slowly letting his talent take over. Collins eating doubles like little debbie snacks. That second rep is very exciting. There's nuances there with the feet, hands and the transition work. The pass rush gears are clearly turning in this guy's head.

Damn! He's lookin' nice

Yup looks about right too slow to get to the qb and getting ran up the middle on

Huh?

That's what I see also. Gave up a lot more rushing yards in week 2 with Collin's getting more playing time.

I don't think he was bad at all. I see a player who's improving week by week, now that he's getting into football shape and he's starting to understand his role in this defense. Remember, he missed OTA's, so he was essentially getting into football shape all throughout training camp.

He definitely is still getting pushed, had a couple nice plays looks a bit better which isn't saying much considering how terrible he has been. Want to see a larger sample rather than jumping the gun on "he's not that bad" going against the bottom ranked team in week 2

Funny how you don't want to see a larger sample before you say how terrible he is. Weird how that works.

Improving from terrible to bad isn't a ringing endorsement. The OTA/Preseason argument doesn't hold water. Sigle, Stout, Mykel missed them also.

Because he has been terrible 😂 I'm not saying the dudes a bust already either but I'm not over here with rose glasses "wow he's making massive improvements against the saints!" either. Hope he fixes his run defense come playoffs, I don't even care about his pass rush right now teams like the Lions, Bucs, Eagles, Packers, even the Vikings I can see running it right down our throat with how our DTs have played specifically him

He's played in two whole games, one of which he played decently. So no, he hasn't been terrible this entire time.

He has been bad so far the main thing we need him to do is hold the middle down and he's either too slow to get to the running back after disengaging or gets blown up the majority of the time. Once we face a juggernaut OL in the playoffs it can be a real problem if he doesn't figure it out.

I wouldn't say the saints game was decent, he had a couple of flashes. I think decent requires consistency

i think you are still thinking of the first game.. because that did not happen during 1v1.. but NOLA made it a point to double team Collins a lot
