Played better than last week.

He's a project for sure but IMO, he'll be a very good player.

And nobody should expect the DT picked 43rd to compare favorably to the DE picked 11th. Ideally both of them become stars, but it's a long road for big D-linemen.

Noticed him still getting man handled out there. Mykel seems like a grown man out there, which is scary since he's so young. Collin's seems like he's in his baby fat phase. Maybe a few years away from big boy NFL abilities.

I think he's more likely a few games away than a few years. A few years is nuts. If he's a few years away he should just be cut now.

That's why he's giving me Kinlaw vibes. Hope I'm wrong.

I couldn't identify him for sure yesterday, but when I did see him, it seemed like he was holding his own, not getting pushed around a lot. Still not the penetration we hope for but that will come.
......................snaps...............PFF grade
week 1.............9.......................27,9
week 2............24......................62,0

I think the improvement is quite remarkable,... he got also a pressure in the form of a hit in a nice and quick pass rush
I see a player who is starting to think less and slowly letting his talent take over. Collins eating doubles like little debbie snacks. That second rep is very exciting. There's nuances there with the feet, hands and the transition work. The pass rush gears are clearly turning in this guy's head.

Yup looks about right too slow to get to the qb and getting ran up the middle on

That's what I see also. Gave up a lot more rushing yards in week 2 with Collin's getting more playing time.

On the nice pass to Brandin Cooks from near Saints goal line in first half Collins nearly had his first sack.

I do think the improvement is noticeable. Hes starting to make plays and look less like a "just another big guy" that is somehow easy to move.
He's not going backward, and his effort was there. That's major progress.

Those of you who think he sucks because of his limited pass rush ... how many sacks would he have to get this year to satisfy you?

I thought he made some improvements and I'm not a Collins guy
I saw flashes out of both Collins and Williams yesterday. Both showed flashes of the types of players they are destined to become. Provided they stay healthy and upright, I expect to see continued flashes of excellence from these two. By the eighth or ninth game of this season, they will really begin to assert themselves as great players on a rebuilt 49er defense.

Remember where you are. If a rookie, or any player, doesn't have success every play it's concerning, and that player might be trash

Which means it's then Kyle's fault and he should be fired for Ben Johnson.
