First of all this could delay matters, as the Browns are unlikely to sign him until they know more. It also could have the effect of players just wanting to get it done, a legal matter or a Non Football injury could ruin them before they get their deals signed as some guaranteed money is better than none which is where the unsigned guys are at now.
It puts the Browns into a difficult position, they can't discipline someone not under contract, so their only options are to pretend it didn't happen, or choose not to sign him and effectively lose a 2nd round pick who was supposed to be the cornerstone of their running game!
It's a game of chicken between all the teams and all the agents. No agent wants to be the one to break because it will cost them clients. No team wants to be the one to break because the owner will get mocked at future meetings (joining Cleveland and Houston owners).

Alfred will have to figure out how important camp reps are to him. I don't know how much practice the rookies will get this week without the rest of the squad on hand but considering he didn't get any in OTAs and minicamps we know he needs as many as he can get.
But business is business...so we wait.

If he doesn't do camp he will end up being mostly a bench bum this year.

It won't help for sure. He has to understand the best thing for him long term is getting that starting role as soon as possible and playing well. He does that and it brings in WAY more money in that 2nd contract than he's fighting over right now. Hope he sees it.

Will he get fined if he misses mandatory camp? He's not under contract

He's going to be under huge pressure to wait with the other 2nd round picks. The fact the 49ers want him to start makes him less likely to compromise since his agent is going to be playing that on repeat.

You can't fine a player not under contract.

Today is the day Rookies Report. I guess no contract today means he is officially a holdout

Not a good look for his team or ours, thought they'd get something figured out.

They should make it set contracts for your position drafted but I understand thad they would never do it.
Did he participate in OTAs? If not this could end up being a lost year for him. Which is the last thing we need.

The amount of his contract is set. Last year's 43rd pick got 78% of his total contract guaranteed. That's literally the first offer Collins got. It's not the players it's the agents.
