Nearly every drafted player has been injured at some time in the past. Frank Gore tore both ACLs in college then played 16 years in the NFL averaging 15 games a year. It's incredibly hard to predict future injuries, and past injuries are pretty consistently minimized by players and their college coaches/training staffs, and it's hard to tell for sure how much an injury location hurts if the player isn't telling you. They want to get picked and the college they are coming from wants them to be picked.

Oh, the fuss here about Frank Gore's knees was extreme! With both legs done there was a large body of opinion that we had just wasted a 3rd!

Peter King, that year, called it the worst pick of the draft by any team. Shame that his take seems to have disappeared from the internet as it was a hall-of-fame level s**t-take.

Collins is one of the draft picks I'm most looking forward to watching. Looking forward to seeing him do some work in the trenches to help shut down opposing teams' running games. Hoping he can also improve as time goes by on his pass rushing and helping collapse the pocket from the inside.

Sure, but don't miss the point that drafting a player with an "injury history" does not make it a bad pick. The list of players with an "injury history" who then go on to be great pros is huge as is the list of "healthy" players who get injured early and often and end up having empty careers.

I just want to see the whole defense together. Saleh being back and hopefully bringing back the super quick read and react and hard hitting across the defense with a deep rotation on a line in full attack mode, with Williams, CJ, Collins, and Bosa.

Has he not yet signed his contract? Thought he did but could be wrong.

A lot of second rd picks have not…first 2 picks in the second got fully GTD contracts so now everyone else is waiting for that
The Texans gave the first ever fully guaranteed contract to a 2nd round pick (Jayden Higgins, 2nd pick of 2nd round), then Cleveland gave a guaranteed deal to the 1st pick of the 2nd Schwesinger ... they were basically boxed in and wanted him in so they did that quick.

There are no other 2nd round picks signed, they are all looking for fully guaranteed deals. Agents are going to push forever for it until the players push back. Next year the 3rd round picks will be looking for full guaranteed deals.

Last I checked after the Browns/Texans 2nd rounders there have been no 2nd round picks signed.

Though to be fair I believe Travis Hunter is also unsigned and he's out there making leaping 1 hand picks so who knows.

My guess is maybe it's a combo of them being cautious with him and him not looking to rush out there without a contract.

Yes. It is possible that the owners, acting entirely independently of course, will decide to make a stand at this point.

Legally, I wonder where "talking" becomes "collusion" :)

Realistically, I don't think anyone wanted more guaranteed money out there. I wonder what Higgins' agent offered/said to get that first ever deal done?

Hello Trent Baalke.

I assume every GM has had good and bad luck with picks and injuries :)
