Jimmy's injuries caused us to draft Trey I thought?

I maintain that if we can have a top five offense paired with a top ten defense along with this schedule we have a chance to make a playoff run

Jimmy's injuries caused us to draft a QB. Watching Allen easily destroy our defense made Kyle want a QB with elite physical talent.
When I checked the video of Williams before the draft, I didn't see much of an edge rusher. It looked to me he was more of a run stopper. After finding out that he was so young, I thought he could develop into an elite edge rusher because of his size and athleticism. The time has probably come, although maybe too early, for him to get out there and go after the QB. Gotta go with what you have. And I think Saleh can do it

there was only a hand full of pressures and sacks to look at...so yeah.

I think Williams whole thing is the dude has a low center of gravity and long arms....and it shows up on game day. We probably are seeing just a glimpse of what he could be.

I think we are damn lucky when we can see young talent flash potential.

I think once he really figures out a legit pass rush plan and starts to mix things up based on the guys he's going against we'll really see him take the next step.

He's starting to recognize things better, starting to use his length and strength better but it's still somewhat limited as far as moves and pass rush plan. Hopefully it all starts coming together soon cuz we'll need him. And hopefully Huff continues to play really well on his side. I'll be very happy to be completely wrong about his addition. He's already proven me wrong but I'd love to be Justin Smith being a bad fit for us type of wrong.

If i'm going to look stupid, I'd like for the 49ers to be better for it.

Im right there with you. I too would love to be wrong. Would love nothing more than to see him develop into a pass rusher. His bull rush is OK. After watching all his snaps again on YouTube he got a couple pressures off of stunts. His bull rush pressures remind me more of the sack/fumble Mac took. He's pushing his lineman back but if the QB gets rid of the ball the same way we yell for Mac to get rid of it. He really wouldn't generate much. The Arizona game especially. Kyler was hanging in there forever allowing Mykell to eventually get to him.

I want to see him beat his man and generate pressure. Quick pressure. We have yet to see it. He is doing work in the run game though.

I'll be honest, I highly doubt he will ever be that quick pressure type of player which may limit his upside of ever being an All Pro. Just not treally he body type for it which was a reason I was skeptical of the pick but I do think what he flashed as far as elite run stopping and great power pass rush can still make him a homerun draft pick and cornerstone player. Especially if he develops more of a pass rush plan. Either way this system will get the most out of him because he can manipulate pockets and push guys to our more traditional speed rushers so qb's have nowhere to go. Already saw this on multiple sacks this year. Even his own sack he was doing the same until CJ West and Collins flushed Murray out to him.

I wasn't talking about Mykel lol. He's simply progressing.

You'll never see a guy like him being a speed rusher. Aldon wasn't exactly a speed guy himself but he was more advanced technically and used his arms extremely well. Once Mykel evolves his game he's going to be a really good one.

And I thought it was pretty evident even from watching Bosa while he was out there that the plan for Murray was to contain him in the pocket and not just run in and attack and give him the lanes to run.
This kid is gonna be a good one.
Time to punch Absalom Lawrence in the moof

Just want to let you know that this thread is 3rd from the bottom at this typing. It's consistently at the bottom of the 1st page.

1st round pick that has started every game and I would assume plays at least 60% of the snaps and no one is talking in his thread.

I think that tells you the board has also determined he's a meh guy.
