This was only game two. Every single game they play from here on out they will improve, as long as injuries are kept to a minimum.

He showed up for sure against the Saints. In fact i noticed everyone of our rookie dlineman had a play where they stood out. It should only get better from here.

got to love it when rookie's at least flash their potential.

He was sold as a run anchor....and he is flashing as a potentially elite run anchor.....
Williams, Collins, and West have all had rough patches but all are improving.

Looking forward to Jordan Jefferson getting in some time soon too.

That's all you can ask of a rookie. Not all high draft picks can come in and make an immediate splash. Some just need more time depending on what kind of system they came from in college. I just hope all those guys can stay healthy this year so they can continue to get reps and improve.

Agree.

Hopefully all will keep getting better.
He's giving that Iupati rookie season "big boy prospect" vibes. His current skillset may be limited to a couple moves but he's so functionally strong that if his opponent doesnt have their fundamentals down they are getting wrecked.

This is exactly what we need to see all season. It's arguably more important than W's and L's. This draft class panning out determines whether or not we are a contender in the near-future or in for a rebuild.

I wouldn't feel good today if they didn't have drafted Mykel Williams watching him against the Saints. He has so much potential.
He seems strong as hell. Treated that TE like a child with the arm extension. I understand it's a te but that te himself is also a relatively big/strong guy
What's funny is that the 49ers front office was worried the saints were going to take him at 9.

Williams is going to be a stud. He just needs to keep developing and playing his role. I think in his first two games, he's done a great job at doing what he's being asked to do. he isn't being asked to do what Nick Bosa did his rookie year. They're playing two completely different roles.

We haven't had the chance yet, because haven't had big time leads for any period of time this year, but once we can have the following D line just going wild:

Bosa - Williams - West - Huff watch out! sprinkle a little kalia davis in West's spot and that's a pretty damn good pass rushing set. Davis has made super impressive O-line piercing TFL in the both games this season.
This guys combination of speed, power, and agility is pretty impressive.

So the PFF grades and "it's only the Saints" only apply to McCorkle?
