The downside above is worrisome. It's a big gamble in a draft we need to hit out of the park. Especially this high up.

Hopefully, it works out. We'll see..

Dude is 20 yrs old and still growing into his body, he will come around with some NFL training, diet etc. Big upside

Think about this... The dude would need to double his production from college to just get to a 10 sack season...

This is so underwhelming a pick...

Him getting 5 sacks and matching his college production would be considered a good season and we wasted a first round pick on him...

Not every team relies on production alone when making the pick

Anyone that knows football knows that looking at a single sack, specifically something like "sack", can tell if a player is good or not.

Justin smith had 3-8.5 sacks a year here and was all pro. HOF level play. lol come on man. There is so much more to a story than sacks - everyone loves sacks but
That doesn't make or break if a guy is a good player alone

Feels like a panic pick to fill a need.

Total reach

niners coulda gotten him in the 3rd round

They do that most years under Shany / Lynch. I hate these guys so much. Got to get rid of them both.

This is the same type of pick we made in round 2 after we traded all our first round picks for Trey Lance.

Tf yall talking about can get him in the 3rd rd? And a reach? Guaranteed he was gone soon after if we passed, yall just try to find anything to b***h and moan about

Alright big dog! Sounds like you're a fan. I didn't dive much into him but from what I've seen - seems like an excellent prospect who can stop the run really well (huge plus in my book for a young player).

What kind of upside are we looking at? I just saw a stat that opponents averaged 0.1 yards when he made a tackle - hopefully he didn't have a high miss tackle rate

That's considered bad?

No? I thought that was impressive. I just tacked that in there as I was writing that cause I was listening to something

My analysis shows the niners coulda gotten him in the 3rd round

Lmao. Most mocks have him as a 10-15 pick.

Mock drafts also had Solomon Thomas as a top 3 pick. Probably shouldn't use mock drafts to make our selections.

Where did mock drafts have Joe Montana, Patrick Mahomes, and Tom Brady going??

Hopefully we've found our next Aldon Smith

Who's your superstar coach and GM partnership. If you're just spit-ball'in, it's back to purgatory.

The thing about this guy that I'm struggling with is that he is a DEFENSIVE END and his main job is to rush the passer. I would expect a top 11 DE pick in the NFL at the very least register double-digit sacks in COLLEGE. That's like drafting a WR who can't catch.
Aldon Smith vibes 👀

No one should judge off of Mocks.

No one.
Hopefully they finally figured out the recipe for drafting first round DL. Solomon and Kinlaw both big misses. And Bosa was as obvious as all hell so that doesn't count imo.

So you love the pick at #11? Is he a plug and play player that makes us better day 1?

I guess we will see, I guess he's just not what I was expecting at #11.

WTF are you talking about about. Smith didnt play end whose primary role is pass rushing...

This dudes not magically going to double or triple his sack production in the NFL.

He got 4.5 sacks, 4.5 sacks and 5 sacks in college.

He didn't even improve after 3 years...

Everybody high as hell on this pick its just like the lance pick. All potential no production.
