last season before the injury.

The kid is already nice and has plenty of moves in the bag(double swipe, long arm, bullrush). He doesn't need to add a single move. He just needs to apply them better and keep polishing and refining them(ie hand placement/timing, finishing footwork, setups, maturing his rush plan, etc). Pass rushers don't need a million moves. They need one move they're really good at(ideally something flexible you can use against all types of punchers) and a counter off that. Anything else is great but not necessary. This is why guys like Drake Jackson are so frustrating. They don't even have 1 move in the bag.

Nick Bosa was mainly beating guys with 1 move in college(double swipe) and nobody could stop him because 1) he was incredible at it 2) it worked against high/low punchers and inside/outside. He didn't truly add the power element to his rushing until he got to the NFL.

Totally agree! Folks are so fixated on pure sack numbers sometimes. It's not like he had 4.5 sacks in 3 yrs lol.

there's nuance there. He's got all the tools to become a complete DE imo…like you said he needs to refine and polish up his pass rush plan. Kid is only 20. The upside is thru the roof and we know he's a day 1 starter on base downs.

Yep, all this pass rush talk comes from people who did not watch Georgia football. Put him out on the edge in our Wide 9 and let him go at it. At Georgia, he rarely had that chance.

What is it with SI and David Bonilla for that matter? Enough with the negativity and endless b******t news. Good grief. Give the kid a chance to play before ripping him.

Dude SI is a cesspool of s**t. It's all hot takes to get clicks now.

I don't even know who David Bonilla is?

a lot of these folks with opinions have next to nothing in regards to football knowledge. The days of having some credibility with your opinion are gone.

All this polarized talk about what to expect from Mykel got me thinking. If he were to get 5 -7 sacks in year one, while setting a consistent edge ( as he refines his pass rush), I absolutely think that the team would consider that a success. I know everyone wants a perennial 10-15 sack guy, but those expectations are usually reserved for guys picked in the top five. Remember, he doesn't have to be pass rusher number one here, that role is reserved for Bosa. Hopefully the additions of Mykel, Alfred, and C.J. help Nick return to 12-15 sack production.
These guys that give out draft grades are the same as the guys that rank players prior to the draft. They aren't right or wrong. It's just their opinion.

I'm sure most of you have heard that lawyers often consider eyewitnesses to be unreliable. That's because several people can witness the same event and then give a different account of what they saw. It's the same with these so called experts. They see a players film or workout and they have a different opinion. One guy sees a relentless player and another sees a guy that can't move laterally quick enough. One guy sees high ceiling while another sees low ceiling. Neither is wrong. They just view things differently.
Stupid take to say he has high bust potential. He immediately is an elite run defender. If he just does that he will have a 10 year career.

David Bonilla owns this site.

He has been amplifying the click-batey stuff more and more it seems, probably to drive engagement.

Too many damn ads nowadays too. Not sure about the rest of you but there have been multiple times where I wrote something of length and I lose it because the website "refreshes" or just straight crashes because of all the ads.
Haters gon' hate baby. Fact of life. Let's look at some tangibles. Mr. Williams is 20 years old, 6'6" with 35" arms and he weighs 270#. He is going to get stronger and he is of the age where he can be taught; he is damn near a blank canvas. And when Koucerek gets him, woo Lord! He is going to grow into a full grown man before our eyes.

David Bonilla apparently owns this site. He doesn't seem to know much at all about football, and only re-posts crap articles from crap sources like ESPN ans SI. If I wanted to watch that racist network or read the fluffy click bait pieces, I would. Honestly, if I see Bonilla's name under the article, I don't even click on it anymore. Between all his garbage sharing, the over-saturation of ads, and certain "mods" - this site has really gone downhill.

I also find it funny that some of the people calling Williams a reach at #11, had him mocked to the Saints at #9. Just shows that many of these "reporters" will make up whatever they have to, just to create something to write about.

Always wondered who owned this thing lol. Yeah his football intelligence is probably no better than anyone else in here. End of the day it's always about money, rather than being right and logical.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Positivity doesn't sell as well as negative takes do. People don't tune in to Skip Bayless and SAS and all the others for their detailed and informed takes.

Correct, and I dont get this calling stuff out whenever someone criticizes a player. And if someone criticized the same player if he wasnt a Niner, I know some folks wouldnt care a single bit. It's just they dont want to hear criticism or negativity of their own team.

The "toxic positivity" mindset is equally as bad, if not worse, than "negativity". There's absolutely nothing wrong with negative outlook on a player. I dont get why we or any other franchise should be in their own echochamber on some "hear no evil see no evil" polyanna stuff.

For the record, Im a fan of the pick and Mykel, but if someone has doubts about it, I'll listen. And there are some concerns, just like with most prospects.

Every single person who watches football tape can attempt to evaluate any prospect and form an opinion and it doesnt automatically make them clickbait or whatever. In fact, if one considers an opinion clickbait if its negative but if its positive its not...then we have a serious double standard problem.
