Line him up wide with better angles. Pin his ears back. I saw some good hand work there in some of his film. Theres absolutely some Aldon Smith to his game. Not saying he's gonna come in a dominated like that, but that tools are there. There's nuance, he's not like Stewart who's all athlete and kinda clueless as a football player.
last season before the injury.
Mykel Williams (#13) taking over the Orange Bowl.

Like most Georgia defensive linemen, Williams was part of a deep rotation, but you can see his qualities - length, power, bend, speed - shine in this game.
Williams is currently my number one overall prospect for the '25 draft. pic.twitter.com/r8xdBvJtIL
The kid is already nice and has plenty of moves in the bag(double swipe, long arm, bullrush). He doesn't need to add a single move. He just needs to apply them better and keep polishing and refining them(ie hand placement/timing, finishing footwork, setups, maturing his rush plan, etc). Pass rushers don't need a million moves. They need one move they're really good at(ideally something flexible you can use against all types of punchers) and a counter off that. Anything else is great but not necessary. This is why guys like Drake Jackson are so frustrating. They don't even have 1 move in the bag.
Nick Bosa was mainly beating guys with 1 move in college(double swipe) and nobody could stop him because 1) he was incredible at it 2) it worked against high/low punchers and inside/outside. He didn't truly add the power element to his rushing until he got to the NFL.
Totally agree! Folks are so fixated on pure sack numbers sometimes. It's not like he had 4.5 sacks in 3 yrs lol.
there's nuance there. He's got all the tools to become a complete DE imo…like you said he needs to refine and polish up his pass rush plan. Kid is only 20. The upside is thru the roof and we know he's a day 1 starter on base downs.
Yep, all this pass rush talk comes from people who did not watch Georgia football. Put him out on the edge in our Wide 9 and let him go at it. At Georgia, he rarely had that chance.
