I like him, but I still don't believe the trade-up rumors. There is just no way he was worth #11 AND a third round pick. Trading up for him would've been disastrous.

Lol he hasnt played a snap so no reason to make up things @ this point.

Time will tell.

Honestly if he can stop the run that's already a huge plus.

I think that was Kyles and lynch's #1 priority this off-season. Building a defense that's gonna be hard to run against, and I think they may have just accomplished that with these draft picks.

Now we just need to hope they stay healthy cause the current depth behind the rookies is rough. Unless guys make improvements but everyone sucked outside of Bosa last year at stopping the run.

Yeah our depth everywhere outside of maybe WR once Ayuik is healthy is pretty bad. We are one serious star injury from having a gaping hole

Injuries and football go hand in hand. I wouldnt obsess over the inevitable.
I think they wanted to trade-up for Kelvin Banks

Not an obsession just how I feel don't think we are contenders to begin with just making the point if you look at our depth it's very slim compared to recent years

I would have been pissed. Mykel Williams I can get excited about, Banks is just so meh. And yes, I've been wanting the Niners to address the OL. I wanted JPJ last year but got Pearsall (excited about his future) instead.

^ And FWIW I am on record hating every one of those trade ups for those players. Complete opposite of enjoying it. The Lance trade I actually did not hate; but I would never and have never heard of a team trading that much capitol before knowing who they are trading for. Have you?

It was the COVID year, and we were in desperate need of a qb. I think they knew about all they could know about him.

I tried to tell everyone they were going DL. I wanted Membou if he fell…I don't even know if they would have taken him.

they will add some guys next yr on the OL, much better class.

I do think the Raiders snagged Charles Grant right before us in the 3rd.

i actually agree with this next year OL class is a lot better this year was a bit weak. The DL class for this year was strong and on top of that i think going into the draft the #1 need from 49ers FO POV was run D which was addressed

I only agree because McK is a FA and TW is 38 or 39. So they have no choice. 24 was a great oline draft and they didnt care.

Like i said everything pointed to the 49ers going DL early and often. They did just that and people are really shocked that we actually did?

There is no logical sense for the 49ers to move up and trade away a substantial draft piece to not address their top DL choice. If OT was such a critical thing for them I'm pretty sure they would've addressed it before the 7th round.

Wait till people see what McKivitz gets in free agency.

lol Trent is 36 but yeah he's getting up there, I'm optimistic about 2026 but if we lost both TW and Mckivitz that would be disastrous. Like we did this year on DL we need to go hard on OL next offseason
