Landon Jackson and Jack Sawyer sitting here in the 2nd round is equally as good as Edge Setters. I could argue even a better pass rushers.

I agree we have been missing a guy out like for a while. Hell I even lobbied for some bigger guys out the past couple years. But to take one at 11?

Maybe they're still in the cheap mode mindset. Let's draft an adequate guy that will be cheaper to resign down the road.

I think that says more about you than him.😂
I like that John Lynch tried to trade up to get him. This pick really doesn't sound like it was a backup plan or plan B. This is the guy our FO really wanted and we lucked out and got him.

If you think they're equivalent to Mykel I don't know what to tell you.
Both of their upsides are Mykel's floor to me.

We've been desperate to lock down DE opposite Bosa for years. Our run D was atrocious last year. Mykel will be an immediate huge boost in the run game with huge upside as a pass rusher if he develops. There are no perfect prospects at 11 but the overall upside if he develops as a pass rusher is insanely high. Floor/upside combo with Mykel is what we needed.

Also don't discount what he did last year playing on a high ankle sprain all year. Without that….he doesn't fall to us.

Why is that a good thing? They also wanted Ruben foster.

The good news is that they got who they wanted.

The bad news also is they got who they wanted.

Neither of those two have the upside of Williams, that's why he went early 1st round and they didn't. And I especially like Jackson a lot.
I know little about college football, but I see high motor, only 20, and the measurements and I think it seems like a logical fit for both need and talent level/potential. So I'm good with it, and I hope he balls out.

I know this FO has had their fair share of misses. I also know this FO has put together multiple teams that made the SuperBowl with some of the best rosters in the league. The reason why this is a good thing is because I trust our FO still.

Foster the player was a really good, potentially great LB. What killed his career were chronic shoulder issues and him being a complete dumbass. When it comes to Williams, by all accounts, he was loved by fans and coaches alike, good character off the field, violent fanatic on the field.

Water is wet. The sky is blue. Jose Cortez is negative on anything regarding this team.
