Isn't he too light to be a every down player on the inside of the D-line?

I think he would be the lightest DT in the NFL, right?

Who said he's going to be inside at DT every down?

I doubt that Morris will move to a base 3-4, but hypothetically he probably would be too small to be the starting 4T. He is better suited to the 5T who occasionally rushes from the interior.

Good thing safety FA and draft class is strong

and we might do nothing with those FA and draft class

Yep. Mykel will be a 5T. Big end in base and slide inside over a guard in nickle.

We have been looking for a true 5T since Shanahan got here and why they took Solomon Thomas. Shanahan has been looking for his Michael Bennett for 10 years.

We still need another edge for nickle. Someone to play the Dee Ford role and a true pass rushing 3T.

I expect us to fill both edge and 3T in the draft
If you give his injury a year he misses 1/2 the 2026 season. He'll need some ramp up time so it seems unlikely we'll see massive improvement in 2026.

Guys have been coming back much quicker these days. ACLs are not the career killers they used to be, these days it's not even out of the realm of possibility for guys to come back better.

Bosa came back with a monster year...granted one guy doesn't mean everyone else can do it and Nick was injured a month or so ahead of when Mykel got hurt.

But I think its not crazy to see Mykel back for week 1. The bigger issue is he's not able to work on his game the same way he could without having to rehab the knee which is a real bummer. I expected a big jump for him into year 2 which now may be delayed.

They both won't take up a roster spots i believe.. hopefully we have sign some dawgs so Bosa/Williams can take the necessary time to rehab correctly.
Did they drill the heel of his foot unlike Kittle (claims it wasn't as severe as it could've been)?

Why would they have done that for an ACL?

No. His orthopedic surgeon knows the difference between a knee and an ankle.

He was pretty good run defender and SHOULD have more help in terms of being surrounded by more pass rushers. His numbers in tgat regard may go up just due to effort even if he isn't winning his rushes as much outright and closing the deal.

This!

If he comes back sooner it's a bonus.

Might be able to contribute down the stretch if he's up to game speed.
