He was overdrafted. He's not a bad player. Just not what you spend a high 1st round pick on. Hope he's back and ready to roll at the beginning of next year.

Zero chance of that. Isn't this about the same time of year BA had his? Still no sign of him...

I think BA's injury was much worse.

I'm not a doctor and I'll be honest I don't know how much impact the meniscus tear plays into the rehab/recovery but two things Mykel has going for him.

1. He's younger so should heal quicker/easier.
2. He plays DE and not WR. The movement isn't as extreme as the WR position.

His knee tear was nothing compared to BA. They also came out and said there should be no long term issues

...i mean to be fair do we trust this team with injury updates anymore lol?

But yes...hopefully he will be good. I'm more upset at him missing the ability to work on his pass rush on the outside during the offseason and the valuable playing time the rest of this season.

Would be solid if he was a third rd pick

Sure, I can fully expect a candid "his career is pretty much done / he will never be the same again" from Shanny / Lynch.

I said this pre draft and stand by it. If he was a 3rd round prospect instead of a 1st round prospect I find it hard to believe that anyone would argue with that draft projection.

His tape was that of a 3rd rounder IMO.

Hoov, I hear you. But they always say that s**t. There are always longterm issues once someone suffers and injury of that caliber. Yes, we can repair them, rehabilitate them, and get them back on the field. And they may perform at or near the same level, but, I got to tell you those injuries will impact him going forward. Especially as he ages.

/Old man opinion off

Given how the board fell, it wasn't a bad pick. The only other guys I liked were OG's, but they usually never go that high so I get it.... Mykel was already making a huge different in the run. The pass rush if at all we knew would come later. He was a logical compliment to Bosa. Hopefully he has a 100% recovery and can hit the ground running next camp.
