Heard Krueger didn't like him. So I'm thinking it's probably a decent pick.

  • 2022: Freshman All-American. SEC All-Freshman Team. Led team with 4.5 sacks. Played in all 15 games with 2 starts for the national champions (28 tackles, 6.5 TFLs).
  • 2023: Second-team All-SEC. Played in 13 games with 10 starts (18 tackles, 6.5 TFLs, 2 PBUs, FF).
  • 2024: Second-team All-SEC. Tied for the team lead with 2 FFs. Played in 12 games with 6 starts (21 tackles, 8.5 TFLs with 5 sacks, PBU). Played through an ankle injury suffered in the season opener.

2nd team all SEC. 🤔

just not crazy about the pick.

I get that but there are tons of guys in the NFL that do that, Bosa is arguably one of the best. I mean I'd love if he turns into a Bosa clone but I don't think that's quite a realistic comp. Hope you are right though 😉

I like the Willie McGinest comparison if he reaches his ceiling. Dominant run defender, opportunistic pass rusher that you can move around the DL.

Lol right. And if Williams posts a DROY performance next season, Krueg will still say we should have drafted Kenneth Grant.

Feels like a panic pick to fill a need.

Total reach

niners coulda gotten him in the 3rd round

They do that most years under Shany / Lynch. I hate these guys so much. Got to get rid of them both.

This is the same type of pick we made in round 2 after we traded all our first round picks for Trey Lance.

Tf yall talking about can get him in the 3rd rd? And a reach? Guaranteed he was gone soon after if we passed, yall just try to find anything to b***h and moan about

So you love the pick at #11? Is he a plug and play player that makes us better day 1?

I guess we will see, I guess he's just not what I was expecting at #11.

He starts right away, is he 100% polished absolutely not but if coached and he picks it up he has star potential. He makes us better because he already is the 2nd best player on our dline on a dline that was pathetic last year

Dang if I don't see it a little too.

What more can you ask? Known for his run defense and high upside as a pass rusher. It's something we absolutely needed. Whooped Kelvin Banks (although I thought KB was absurdly overrated TBH)..

I let a huge sigh of relief when NO took him, I wanted no parts of him

Dudes 20 was one of the best run defenders in the draft and he's only going to get stronger with age with the potential of becoming a great rusher. I'd take that over say Jalon Walker that I don't think has the potential to ever be a great run defender. The only bad thing you can point to is that he hasn't had double digit sacks.

My biggest concern with having rookies on the Dline is their run defense - so it makes me feel a lot better than he can play run defense well. His pass rush ability isn't bad, it's solid, but has soooo much room for growth. That's an exciting thing.

Some folks are acting like he's a 7th round raw prospect who's never produced.

LOL McGinest and Aldon names being thrown around on this pick.

I will say, those knocking him for 4.5 sacks (x2) and 5 sacks last year is actually not terrible production. Even more so in SEC. It's not Mike Green or Abdul Carter production, but for college that really isn't bad.

Same. Long ass arms too. Luckily being a good leader on and off the fields is one of his strengths
