I understand our finances were out of whack. I understand biting the bullet for a season like the Bills and Rams. But not signing some of these quality veterans out there on the cheap makes no sense....Ie Ojulari and Thornhill.....add Bradbury. John Lynch needs to come out and speak to the fans.....be transparent.....no crap of reset.....I would have so much more respect for transparency and honesty.........no more silence and don't end the silence with fluff. Tell us the financial plan moving forward!

They aren't going to publicly provide details of their plans, especially their draft plans.

Lynch has already been transparent enough. They had their foot on the accelerator for the past few years, and now they need to let off and re-calibrate. Most beat writers predicted Huf, Ward, Banks, and Greenlaw walking in FA, Hargrave cut, and 50-50 chance of Deebo departing.

The two main FA target signings were Drew Dalman (signed by the Bears) and Jamien Sherwood (re-signed by the Jets). Outside of that, they predicted it was going to be a fairly quiet off-season.

This ain't madden. They made the right call not signing those vets you highlighted as they aren't material upgrades vs. what we current have or potential candidates in the draft.

They don't have to be transparent if they don't want to. It's their organization and they can run it how they want. Also if they are too transparent they will be at a disadvantage against other teams. Other teams can take advantage

That's the point. With the draft ahead, you do not give away information. Also, I have no idea why people think they have a right to information about a team. They make public what they want. And, unlike Baalke, this team does not leak and I like that.

Ojulari has had a ton of soft tissue injuries. no thank you.
the team signed and added depth to the S position.
How many reasons do you want?

Load up on 1 year deals for vets = not getting younger, not getting cheaper, blocking roster spots for rookies who will actually help you achieve the goal of getting younger and cheaper.

They've been very transparent with the reasons why they're doing this and gave us a heads up that it would be a different style of off season because of the financial restraints. Not sure how more transparent you want them to be without posting screenshots of the financials and giving a power point presentation on their grand plan.

Correct. It's wild some fans want them to lay everything out step by step. Organizations just aren't gonna do that

Not sure we needed a whole thread for this.

Either way the team owes us nothing of the sort. The players you mentioned are nothing close to worth such a thing.

Lynch spoke about this during the combine - they are going trying to get younger and lessen the cash spending. GMs rarely give away information like that without a reason. I find it funny that we try to find secret meaning behind stuff but when we're actually told this will happen we're shocked and demand transparency lol.

The plan is to get younger, use the draft for the heavy lifting in the trenches and bring in low cost free agents to fill in the depth and provide vets who can help the rookies.

I understand wanting more from a team and we all know OL and DL have been an issue for us so not signing anyone there outside of our own guys(not always a bad thing btw) seems like we're not looking to improve. Doesn't mean that's the plan.

And yes as others have mentioned…giving away your plan to other teams also isn't very smart. Just breathe and hope we crush this draft.
You can't handle the truth.
We run a team that has walls and those walls have to be protected.
Who's gonna do it? You? You Grant Cohn?
Lynch has a greater resposibility than you can possibly fathom.
You weep for Greenlaw and curse the Front Office.
You have that luxury.
You have the luxury of not knowing what Lynch knows.
Free agency while tragic probably saves careers and wins games.
And Lynch's intentions while grotesque and incomprehensible to you saves careers and wins games.
You don't want the truth because deep down in places they don't talk about in the parking lot......
You want Lynch on that wall, You need Lynch on that wall.
He uses words like Honor, Code, Loyalty.
He uses these words as the backbone of a lifetime defending something.
You use them as a punch line.
He has neither the time or the inclination to explain himself to fan who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the team he provides and then questions the manner on which he provides it.
He would rather you just say thank you and went on your way.
Otherwise he suggests you pick up a flag and start cheering.
Either way he doesn't give a darn what YOU THINK YOU ARE ENTITLED TO.

It makes perfect sense when you understand what they are doing. They have even done it before.

These are billionaire owners going cheap because they appear to be more interested in other investments at the moment. Sucks but you can't fire the owners....

This is not a financial decision that forces our hand it's one that our owners have decided to take while still raising ticket prices.

Can we stop pointing at the bills and rams? Look at our DL bet 90% of us can't even name a player outside of Bosa. Only explanation is eating up as much dead cap as possible York is all for it to line his pockets. We have literally done -0% effort to improve this team
