49ers QB Mac Jones saw a dead body by the team hotel before he won the game against the Rams.

Police are investigating.
What happened next? https://t.co/wfrFciMcCS
And he played really well, so now superstition demands that he needs to see a dead body before every start.

Brock Purdy is making $53M per year

Mac Jones is making $4.2M per year.

Just a comparison so far. I think Mac also leads the league in yards per game right now.

We use to do this with Purdy and the other QB's when Purdy was still on his rookie deal. Let Purdy get healthy he'll be back firing off.

The turnovers are the issue with Brock healthy or not healthy.

Asking a question. Could Brock have won this game with the same players that Mac had? I've been thinking about this, Brock had better players on the field last week and the 49ers lost. Not saying one is better than the other. Brock just has too many turnovers he needs to get that under control. Both QB's have injuries Brock the toe and Mac a knee or leg strain. 🤷
It's like the Smith vs Kaepernick Super Bowl argument. Could Smith have won the game if had started? Maybe, I tend to think so, because I think he understood how to play the position better than Kaepernick did, which I think is what could have made the difference. People on the other side of the argument will come back with, well, the defense gave up 34 points, yes they did, in that iteration of the game. But you can't change the most important offensive player on the field and expect the game to play out exactly the same way. Maybe the offense would have been more efficient under Smith which might have led to longer, time consuming drives that used up more of the clock and kept Baltimore's offense off the field. The fact is you can NEVER KNOW, so it seems like kind of a pointless exercise.

Mac threw 49 times against the Rams.
If Brock throws 49 times he will get intercepted 3 times at least.

It seems that so far, Mac has enjoyed moderately better pass-pro than Brock did in his two games. I'm glad the guys have stepped up and give Mac some decent time. Mac, to his credit has also been very good at getting the ball out quickly as the pass pro has been far from great, so to speak. And we saw, as with any QB, when the Rams began getting pressure in the 4th quarter, Mac nearly threw a pick that would have greatly increased the Rams win chances. So it's not like him, or any QB, is impervious to making a game altering mistake when the pressure gets home.
Edit: Upon review of the play, it was a clean pocket, just a very ill-advised throw. Lucky the LB tipped the ball or the DB would have had an easy INT. This was the 3rd and 10 right before the big 59 yard kick. Robinson was wide ass open if Mac would have looked right, but he was pretty laser focused on Tonges. I think this play illustrates where Brock is still ahead of the curve when it comes to running this offense.

And that is the problem. Bad decision making. I like Brock and do not see a big QB controversy here but he needs to stop the bone headed plays hero ball.
And nothing Mac has done has shown me that Brock is light years ahead of him in this offense. I go by W's and L's and what I see when I watch the game.

That was a predetermined throw. Sometimes even the GOATs get fooled.

Mac almost turned the ball over 3 different times on that drive. We were pretty lucky there. I don't remember him putting the ball at risk on any other drive during the game.

A couple balls were flat out dropped by rams. So dont expect zero ints every game.

Nice attempt to rewrite history. Alex folks still do this all these years later. Maybe you're viewing Alex from his 2.0 version with Andy Reid.
Go back and look at Alex's stats leading into him losing his job to Kap. Since Harbs got there. Even at his best with us, he struggled to converting 3rd downs. The WHOLE SEASON in 2011 and through out the Playoffs.. Alex would go for like 1-10, 2-11, 1-10 on 3rd downs. Hell, I believe he didn't connect with a single WR in that NFC Championship loss to the Giants. Folks rightfully blame Kyle garbage ass Williams for those fumbles....but Alex could have helped us put the game away on a few occasions with these mystical long sustaining drives.
Kaepernick was able to get us 1st downs with his arm and his legs (scrambling). Get us big chunk yards with passes over the middle of the field, to Walker and Davis. You talk about that Super Bowl, but what about that NFC Championship vs the Falcons? Kap and Gore helped bring us back after our defense gave up the booty before halftime. It was rare for Alex to bring our team back from deficits like that. Like Redzone's Heart Throb Jimmy G, Alex had a horrible win/loss record when being down on offense.
