Vinovich or whatever the hell his name is? Should have lost his job after he screwed over the Saints...wasn't that also against the Rams? Hmmmm

usually you don't really get to see "what if we took X player instead of Y" but we are here. It was clear at the time that Mac was the most logical choice, just not an exciting one, and didn't seem to have a high "ceiling".
with hindsight, Mac should of been the player cause that roster was in "win now" mode and having such a green qb like Trey didn't make any sense, IMO.
is what it is - I'm glad to see him thriving with us.

I can see why he was a first round pick, he makes quick decisions and gets the ball out quick , he looks good, he looks better than Brock in every way minus the mobility, may have found a gem here, he was in 2 s**t franchises in jags and bills check when he went crazy. He finally in a normal situation and thriving

We're in a honeymoon with Mac because there's no tape of Mac running shanny's offense. No one knows what he likes to do what his weaknesses are and so on. That will eventually change and his numbers will adjust accordingly. But in the meantime we should take all we can from this guy. He's obviously more comfortable doing what Shanny wants which is sit seven steps in a pocket stand still and find Targets. Brock is 100% improvisor And is less comfortable playing that way. Ultimately Brocks the more effective player due to his escapability. But we should take what we can from mac and say please and thank you.

The Mac Jones that we have now isn't the Mac Jones we would have got in 2021. Would everyone on here have been patient enough to wait for him to improve to his current level. I'm thinking not. I could never understand the hate for him in the first place. He comes across as a humble bloke with a nice football brain. He played terrific on Thursdat night.

When the head referee is enamored with the star quarterback in the game, how do you expect him to notice anything else eg holds, PI, etc.

I can see Brock on IR to make us forget he exists and roll with Mac.

I swear some of these takes are wild.
like the one poster said, we are in the honeymoon stage with Mac. Same exact stage we went through with some of our other quarterbacks.
When Jimmy G took over he was the next coming of Joe Montana. His first few seasons we were all happy we finally had a franchise QB. Then we realized his ceiling was lower than we thought and we moved on.
Same exact thing with Brock Purdy but with a higher ceiling and I'm not quite sure we know his true ceiling yet but it's better than Jimmy G.
Mac Jones has the same exact arch as Brock. Huge numbers and win after win. Everyone on here is riding his nuts just like we did with Brock but will abandon him once his true ceiling is revealed.
Heck even Nick Mullins had a couple good games.
point being is every decent QB we have has looked great at first but has eventually leveled off. Mac maybe playing better than Purdy at this particular moment but we just don't know what it will look like in the future.
