Jeff Garcia might have something to say about that, and Brock Purdy for that matter. He was the 3rd string QB when he had to step in.

I know exactly what you mean there. Truthfully I believe 90% of my posts on certain players can be attributed to this right here.

I have the same mindset. We can't change the past and I believe neither of us wanted him back then.

I've been out of the country the past few weeks not able to watch the games... so I have no idea how everything has looked these past few weeks, but all I know is we are 3-0 without having Brock for a period of it. Can't ask for anything better than that!

If they had picked Jones and Kyle had worked with him and he was playing okay then there's a chance that they never would have darfted Brock.

That is not how it was at the time. One was a cocky drunk kid shouting out show me the money predraft in bars. A bit of a snot and perhaps not the type culture you want as the leader of your organization. While this is not related to skill it most certainly weighs a part. Remember the movie Draft Day and the number one QB had a birthday party and it was discovered not one of his college teammates showed up. Mac came across a bit like that.

Lance, while low play time was a winner in college. He had some impressive moments. Doing one's homework it could seem easy to see his ceiling was huge. You roll the dice. There is no wrong pick here at the time. Unfortunately ours didn't go to plan.

Fast forward, watching Mac yesterday his off field laugh and personality infectious. He's gritty and a full team player. I like him but Brock Purdy was the right choice.

He barely pulled out two wins we should have won comfortably. If James Conner doesn't get hurt today we lose.

Its weird that there are people who actually prefer Mac over Purdy.

If ifs were fifth we'd all be drunk.

I am not seeing any controversy. Mac is a good backup who can win. Didn't have that last year. Purdy has been injury prone so it is nice to have.
I am not seeing the controversy or anyone who is serious calling for Mac to be the #1.

Minute Purdy got a chance he would've beaten Mac out too. Would've been in same situation trading Mac.
