Honest question. What makes you think Mac doesn't understand what's at stake? LOL

$30 million for backup QB? He'll need to look more than good. Kyle and the system can make an average QB look better.

Yeah I just don't see how this will possibly work. He's got ZERO mobility and our OL is a wreck. This could get ugly.
It can work. IF KS can scheme up quick hit routes and get the run going to deploy play action.
Agreed. I think he'll be able to run the offense reasonably well. Would have been easier with Kittle, Aiyuk, and a healthy Jennings. They'll still beat the Saints.

I think he can manage a game good enough for us to squeeze out a couple wins. If Brock misses 4 games i think we can go 2-2. I maybe a bit optimistic but i think Mac is a fine QB2.

You're right but considering he's on a 1 year deal you'd have to turn around and pay him big as well. So that argument wouldn't hold much weight. Maybe the 2 or so posters who think Mac is better will see this post.

If we can be 3-2 when Brock comes back we have a chance to get to 10 wins.
If we lose to the Saints and Jags I think we can probably forget the season - likely we would be 1-4 / 1-5 and thats a big hole to climb for an aging injury prone offense.
Was a big time Mac Jones fan during the draft. Still think we can go at worst 2-3 with him the next few weeks.
Having said all of that, put money on him throwing an INT. Hell I also smell a strip sack fumble.
Outside of those 2 plays I still think he'll play good enough to get us a dub this week. I just hope his 2 bad plays aren't reminiscent of Nick Mullens. Nick's 2 bad plays ALWAYS seemed to be at the wrong time

Kind of surprised on Mac negativity. I guess we'll see but you look at last year, he had as many wins as Trevor Lawrence (on the same team) in less starts. Their stats were in same ballpark (not great) but if we had Trevor Lawrence it'd be excitement. Why?
Because he has measurables. The same reason some people rail on the media for s**t talking Brock is what they do with mac.
Again I don't expect Mac to be some incredible talent but the way some people are talking here it's like he has been Dan Jones on the giants. Strange takes
