Conversations with other teams have yet to yield anything substantive. That's fine by me if we keep Mac as a backup for another year.

I think someone will make a suitable offer for Mac at some point.

are they even allowed to have those ? I dont think they can make trades till like march, not sure about verbal communication

You can agree to terms on a trade right now. You just can't finalize it until the new league year begins.
Cousins available; sign him to a vet min deal (he's made plenty money) for all those so worried about Brock getting hurt and not having a good backup. Problem solved. I guarantee you that Shanny loves Kirk more than Jones; shoot maybe even more than Purdy lol.

Why would cousins play for bare minimum and be a backup? He could easily go into broadcasting or sign a much better to actually play.

mac jones is a cheap backup and is somewhat reliable. We at least know we can win with him. Lol I think we are just trying to get teams to offer more for him but I'd imagine he's traded. Which kinda sucks for us cause he's a cheap reliable backup - those aren't super easy to find

We need help in other areas, we need to get the good value Mac has

Other options too outside of Cousins playing for peanuts.

I don't think the 'reclamation project' market is very good, but we can definitely find a quality backup without upside.

Have to take advantage of the value we created with Jones... as long as the offer is worthwhile.

I'm not disagreeing with you but replacing Mac would also be a priority. If Brock gets hurt and misses time, which isn't a stretch to say he might - we need to be to win some of those games.

it all just depends. If we can get good value for him and add nice pieces - im all for it. Thats ideal. Idk who we would sign to replace him but maybe rourke can fill that need

I don't think Cousins is willing to sign for vet minimum but if he is he's choice #1 to be our #2 for me.

2 2nds for Mac or he stays.
now that it looks like cousins is going to be released, I would definitely be interested in moving Mac. Not sure what cousins would sign for, but I'm sure he'd love the opportunity to try and end his career with a Super Bowl under the coach he was most successful with.

Would be a dumb move to keep Mac. He's available for free after next season, and there is a chance (albeit small) that he sits the entire 2026 season without taking a meaningful snap.

Highly unlikely he doesn't take a meaningful snap. This is Purdy we're talking about
Mac is gone next year, would you guys really spend a potential high 2nd round pick for a 1yr backup QB rental? I want to keep Mac as much as anyone but you have to take that deal.
the real question is which team does Mac Jones go to win a ring infront of our faces when hes free?
