Shop Find 49ers gear online
Please no Trade for Picks as 49ers wont get any Impact players in the first 3 rd's. Look at who is QB needy, Like the Steeler's or Browns. Might as well swing for the fences. and give up Mac Jones a First and a Second and hell will throw Jayir Brown for Watt or Garret. dosen't hurt to ask

I don't think WIlson can be salvaged but I do think Justin Fields could be. I wanted him over Lance.

He hasn't been in good stable environments yet.

I can't imagine Shannahan touching Fields with a 10ft pole.

I'd consider Pittsburgh a good stable environment and he was one and done there.

J.Fields is as bad as Wilson. Of the F/As Trubisky and bringing JimmyG back make more sense. If we get another backup I would wait until teams start cutting guys like Tua and Geno both guys who have had success at points in there careers with a ton of starts.

If he comes at a back up price, Kirk Cousins will be him.

In order to compete for high playoff achievement in the modern NFL 17 game season we need depth in the qb room. We have to keep mac. We dont have a top 10 oli e.

It's a slippery slope. The depth is a huge advantage especially given Brock's injury history.
Most teams season would be over if they lose their starting QB. You think the Pats or Seahawks would be here if Lock or Dobbs were playing?

So yes we keep Mac if the offers aren't strong enough. But given our ability to find reclamation projects and also the presence of Rourke….you kind of have to take the compensation given all of our needs if it's a strong enough offer.

I'm not sure I would want any of those guys except maybe Jimmy, just because he's shown he can work in the system. But it would be weird having him return as a back-up after he had been a starter for us. For the moment. I'm hoping that Rourke will prove he can handle the job, or that Mac stays around one more year.

They'll get a 2nd rounder for him

I suggest ShanaLynch will make that trade because, first, 2026 is probably the last year of this group's SB window.

IDK, I think Wilson has a chance still. I was shocked to see TyreeK Hill call him a great quarterback who needs the right team, Just a couple weeks ago.

I think it would be a conditional third that could turn into more.

QB demand this year is a lot more than supply, with an injured Daniel Jones leading the pack. Everyone witnessed the Sam Darnold turnaround and saw Mac's on-field performance in 2025, so giving up a #2 for Mac is less risky that signing Jones or Malik Willis. Losing Mac is also a risk for the 49ers given Brock's injury history, so they will not part with him unless the value is high. I would put the floor at Steelers' pick #53.

If they trade Mac and are looking for the next reclamation project I think Marcus Mariota would be a nice fit. Mobile like Brock and can play in an NFL offense. I mean he's 32, but I'd take him over Cousins.

They could bring Jake Browning home to compete with Kurtis Rourke for the #2. Adrian Martinez is likely your practice squad guy.

Shanahan wouldn't and rightfully so. Cousins knows Shanahan's offense and process the game better.

Neither Mariota or Cousins would be reclamation projects, but they both could be solid backups.

I wouldn't want either honestly. I'd only prefer them over the Nate Sudfeld and Josh Dobbs types.
