We need to get younger, faster, and healthier. Trade him asap.

Jones looked good, plus his contract for next year if you have him as your starter is tiny so he should be very marketable.
Damn already gave up on Rourke.

I still think Dolphins could benefit from having Mac Jones. Raiders could too but 9ers and Raiders don't make deals with each other.

The answer is no unless we get an all pro at position of need. I would not even trade for 16-32 first rounder.
Why? The story of 2025 is no Mac, no playoffs.
I love Mac, wanted him in '21, but we have just too many needs.
I would trade him if we get offered a top 40 pick... and then sign Zach Wilson as backup
if Raiders hire the other Kubiak, I could see pick 36 being in play

2nd or higher and trade him. You won't get higher. But if you can get a 2nd from a QB desperate team I would do that. Problem is we are so bad at picks they would miss anyway. But if you have two 2nd round picks you hit on one and miss on one it would still help you. 3rd round pick I don't know. I think he's more valuable as a backup than that. Brock is always hurt. Maybe better to keep him than that.

but I don't see them turning down a starting QB out of spite, especially with Brady there

Of course the 9ers want to trade with them, but Mark Davis won't.

Why would the Raiders trade for Mac when they have Mendoza locked up? And yeah Raiders do not trade with us. I think they might make a trade with the chargers before us

I think watching how bad Denver looks with their backup QB has just spooked Kyle Shanahan and secured Mac Jones for next season even more. Having the best backup QB in the league is a HUGE plus. His trade package will be tremendous in order for the 49ers to accept it. The Broncos lost a chance at the SB when Nix got hurt. It's painful to watch Stidham play today. The Broncos defense has been so elite today as well

I think we should trade him but only for an actual player. I'd rather keep him than have draft picks (unless its something crazy).
But either way, we cant sit around counting on our backup QB when we can get value that helps the rest of the team. The injury thing HAS to get figured out. We're so scared of injuries that we're actually considering keeping a BACKUP when we can get value for him.

If it were to be to a team like the Vikings, according to some people's suggestion, straight up for Jefferson and nothing less otherwise f**k em.

If a 3rd is all that's offered no way. We keep him till his contract runs out and then when he leaves we automatically receive a compensatory 3rd.

Jones served his purpose this year. Niners should trade him for a 2/3 pick, combo of picks, or as stated here for a key player addition. Perhaps an O-Lineman, LB, or safety. Shanahan has shown he can do good work coaching up a backup.

I understand the sentiment. But a 3rd round pick this year is more valuable than a compensatory third. First, a pick next year is worth less, and second a compensatory pick is really at the end of the round, so more a 4th round pick. The niners can use all the capital they can get now.
