Brock is playing GREAT! There's nothing wrong saying that. But to say another player "can't" do things (Like look off coverage)? I mean first I feel Mac was doing a fine job moving the offense in his own way. Brock has chemistry with Jauan, Kittle, and Pearsall. I don't feel it's right to claim that Mac couldn't build up similar chemistry as time went on, to attempt certain passes, trusting his WRs to be at their spot. Again Mac was playing with the backups, while Brock was gone. Either way Mac is learning a lot this season behind Brock, with Kyle. He is going to be so juiced to play next year.

There is nothing wrong with saying Mac "CANT" do things that Brock does. Because it is an objective fact.

If you mean physically, for example Brock's agility,... then yes totally agree.

But if you mean look off/hold defenders with his *eyes/helmet stripe lol.... I don't that can be considered a fact. I'm sure he's done it before. Hell Trey Lance has done it. A QB could grow into doing that more often with experience and chemistry/trust.

Not only that, but it need to be made clear what the difference was since in the first half of the season so many claimed Brock should not have gotten his contract or that he and Mac were the same person. They are not and I'm glad all doubt is being removed.

The film watchers never believed that. Mac has never executed the offense to the peak level Purdy outside of perhaps the Rams game.

Mac ran this offense damn good. Best backup qb in the league. period. we have him next year and he should be welcome to stay. The only way we make a run next year is if mac jones is around to win us 5 or 6 games when purdy gets clobbered. SAME story as THIS YEAR.

Can't believe I'm saying this after the past few years but Mac deserves his own team IMO, he deserves to be a starter.

I think he will want to stay, he loves the guys. Just watch how he dances with Trent and the fellas when they come out of the tunnel on gameday.

Jones played really well for us and literally saved the season. No complaints about Mac's play at all, he's just not Brock. I have said it before in other posts but will repeat it here. I would be happy to see Mac back next year, but I think a lot will depend on what the team thinks it has in Rourke. He came out of college with a lot of similar traits. He's tall, with a decent arm, can stand in the pocket and read the field. If he can prove that his college game can transfer to the pros there would be a lot of incentive for the team to see what they could get for Jones since I imagine his goal is to be a starter again somewhere.

The problem for him is that he is in a system now that seems to suit his skill set, would he do as well in another system with a different coach? Hard to say. He got run out of New England, hardly made an impact with the Jags, or wherever it was he was at. There are several young QBs around the league right now who are more dynamic players or are playing well enough to get another look. I suppose some of it will depend on what front offices get booted at the end of the year. Raiders and Jets both need QBs but they will end up picking early enough to get someone in the draft. Who does that leave, Miami maybe, Cleveland, the Steelers. That back-up from GB is probably going to get a lot of attention, so that will further limit his options. And what if Burrows tries to force his way off the Bengals. Be interesting to see how it all works out.
We have the best qb room in the league. That's the only reason we are playing for 1 seed. The only reason. If we lose mac we need another ringer that fits shannys system. Thats all im saying. I think we should seriously consider all options including sweetening macs deal or extemding it. If we take the draft picks we need to make a contract with a solid vet who needs to learn the playbook from page 1. So how much will we gain, really?

Well, as I said above, a lot of what happens with Mac depends on Rourke, who seems to have a lot of similar qualities. I would be perfectly happy to see Mac return and agree that the team should consider all options. It may well turn out that after all of the other QB needy teams make their moves this off season, Mac will look at the landscape and decide it would be a better option for him to stick around for another year. However, I suspect after being a star in college and a first round draft pick, he may well have the desire to be a starter again somewhere. What he might not want though, is to be a starter on a bad team for a lousy organization that's in the middle of yet another rebuild that will keep them out of contention for several more years. Time will tell.

I'm hoping Kurtis Rourke becomes a solid #2 QB so we can maybe find a good Trade for Mac Jones to make us better somewhere else on the team(Oline, Dline, or Secondary).
We'll trade Mac for Maxx (Crosby)...even up.

As long as a Davis is running that team, they will never trade to the 49ers.

Maybe Tom Brady can do the trade in the middle of the night without Davis knowing....

Id rather have Mac another year (if he is okay with it) and take the comp pick in 2028. I'd also love Rourke to have a year of Purdy and Jones mentoring him. The only thing that would change my mind is a top 50 draft pick which I do not believe we will get.

As for what Jones wants, surely he wants to start but I hope he follow the Sam Darnold path. Be sure to go to a team with a top notch play caller in control. If Darnold went to the Raiders as opposed to the Vikings in 2024, he'd be a permanent backup.

Mac Jones could be a Mid Season trade next year depending how things go. If a top QB goes down for another team, Mac Jones would be a top prize.
