We have a starting QB who is hurt regularly. To sustain having Brock as the starter we need a capable backup. Assuming is not as good as knowing and getting another Backup to hope he can do as well as a job as Mac did this season is not realistic. I'd only move him for a 1st rounder otherwise he's ours for another season.

There are QBs that will be on the market that I have confidence that Kyle could get as much success out of as Mac Jones. Zack Wilson, Carson Wentz, Marcus Mariota, and so on. People forget that Mac Jones was thought of as a trash QB before Kyle got his hands on him.

Even in the draft people thought of him as the perfect system QB for Kyle. Turns out, he is.

Exactly! Mac's strengths is perfect for this system. Not so much for Zach or Carson. Athleticism and arm strength isn't the necessities for Kyle

I agree with this. Not because I think Mac is worth a 1st. I know damn well we won't get one. Having Mac for cheap is worth more than anything else we'd get for him. This regime's 2nd rounders

Pettis
Deebo
Banks
Jackson
Green
Collins

Outside of Deebo Mac has more value than anyone else on this list.

Now if Rourke shows to be a capable backup in TC/preseason and Purdy stays healthy then come next trade deadline then sure. Even if Jones' value drops to a 4th-5th by that time.

I just dont trust JL to make a quality pick with the pick we'd get in return.

People thought he was "perfect for this system" because they thought he was a younger Jimmy G (and people at the time foolishly believed Jimmy was perfect for this system).

Its painfully obvious he isnt "perfect" for this system, when we have a QB who is substantially better in the same system already.

Having Purdy doesn't make Mac any less perfect for this system

Let me restate: It's not that Mac is perfect for our system, it's that our system is perfect for Mac.
Same goes for Jimmy.

Iagree that there isn't a 2nd rounded that exceeds Mac's value. Play it out and get the 3rd round comp pick in 2028 unless a team overpays (you 10 first rounder lol).

He is? I believe in having a backup but how is Brock hurt regularly?

Turf toe apparently never goes away. They've already stated this is going to affect him for the rest of his career

can't believe fans want to give up the opportunity at the #1 seed to rest players who just came off a BYE

this is why outside this forum, it's known as The Romper Room. never change NT. never change.
I would gladly take the Alex Smith deal for Mac Jones and nothing less

2 second round picks
