I would not trade Jones unless some crazy team offered a first rounder for him. Can't trust that Purdy will hold up, and unless you're willing to replace Mac with a certified backup (think Kyle's wet dream Kirk Cousins), I would keep him around for 2026 as an insurance policy.
It just depends on what the offer is, like you said.
I'd be surprised if a team makes an offer in that neighborhood (like a 1st, or a 2nd and a 3rd etc) but who knows.
Trade him? Why would you trade a guy who is more durable and arguably better than the current starter? I think you figure out how to at least keep them both. What is crazy is Mac has a higher market value than purdy. We have a qb1 with negative equity. It's like paying more for a car than it's worth but you have to have it… you drive it for a year or two and it's not what you thought it would be. Your stuck with it, cant get rid of it because nobody else is stupid enough to pay that much. That is the situation we are in now.
Because there is absolutely zero logical argument that he is better than the current starter. Pretty simple.
maybe Mike would also throw in a 4th. Jets is the team the media is throwing out there, but Miami has the better offense for Mac I guess
