Darnold had a lot better supporting cast when he played here. Mac is playing with backups. Big difference.

Darnold never started a meaningful game for us. Played a clean up role in a blowout loss, and a game 17 when seeding was set. What's the point of the comparison? I'm honestly curious.

I'm glad the Mac hype died down today. It was getting ridiculous and that alone makes this loss feel a bit better.

Nah man this take ain't it
He competed and is tough as hell. Make some elite throws and had some mistakes and held the ball long a few times. His lack of mobility was big today.

I don't think it makes it any better. He didn't even play any worse than his other games, the results were just different. He's still a turnover machine, the defenses are just starting to catch them now as opposed to the earlier games when he got away with it. He's a good backup. People should stop expecting so much from him.

I can't believe I read that.

I'm shocked at folks saying he played well. The 2 picks were really bad. He was also very lucky to not have 2 lost fumbles today.

Loved how he played the other weeks but today was just a bad game, we don't have to pretend it wasn't. Watching him live at the stadium he didn't look like himself today.

No QB is gonna function behind that OL, especially with all the key weapons on offense out.

I don't get why it's negative to hype Mac when he played a key part with this 4-2 record. Add how bad this pass blocking unit and a patch up receiving group he has been playing with him. No Aiyuk, Pearsall, Jennings and Kittle for the most part of this season. His most reliable target was just signed off the street not too long ago (Bourne) and a bunch of backups.

The first pick wasn't his fault. The 2nd pick definitely was but you're talking one glaring mistake in a game where you throw it 39 times without a run game.

Sometimes you just don't have enough. That was us as a team today.

That sums up every QB we've had for the past 10 years or so

Did he look like Justin Fields today?
