i really hate this signing on a bunch of levels, he doesn't look bad out there but he was doing 100 mph intoxicated, and that's a hard pass for me.

now we kinda made our bed knowing BA might not be ready and we knew this guy was likely suspended.

He's really good as a WR3/4, and people everywhere he's been say he's a great guy and a responsible leader. He screwed up and it cost him a lot of money, and he admitted it and was contrite. I'm okay giving him a 2nd chance.

This is kind of what I wanted this year. I wanted Mason (or Jeanty) as our RB1 between the 20's with CMC as 50% WR, 3rd down back and redzone RB. Best of both worlds. Save CMC from the wear and tear while not a huge drop off in the passing game. Needless to say that didn't materialize

Guerendo looked better than Mason in some parts of the game. What I want is CMC to get 30% fewer snaps with the ball in his hands and for those to be split with Guerendo and James. It's possible, but Kyle has to stand up to CMC.

Won't matter in the grand scheme of things

Three games seems like a lot, IMO. What he did was really dumb but nearly a quarter of a season is stupid. Just fine the s**t out of him but let him play, unless the player has a history of these issues.

anyways, oh well. lol we don't need any WRs for week one. Going to be a major run heavy game plan

Unfortunately it's standard DUI suspension. Not likely to change.

What is frustrating is that it happened while he was with the Rams but the 49ers suffer for it. Obviously we signed him knowing there is a chance there. Just really unfortunate that we've been decimated at the WR spot and the timing is awful with two division games in the 3 game span he misses vs pretty good defenses.

We're really going to need Pearsall to step up, pray Jennings miraculously heals and gets into the groove and someone else steps up at the position while Kittle and CMC do a lot of the heavy lifting.

Sure. But it's the player being punished not the 49ers :)

Kyle said there was an appeal going. The 3 games is mandated by the CBA but I wonder if they are trying to delay the 3 games (say for 4 weeks or so) which wouldn't be unprecedented.

Jennings, Cowing, Watkins, and receiver X will get a chance to be difference makers for sure. I also hope Guerendo and James get some chances running routes too (skills they have that Mason supposedly struggled with).

I'm fine with the suspension but that POS Rasheed Rice has been found guilty of 2 felonies stemming from a reckless driving incident where he caused a multi vehicle wreck with injuries and has already been sentenced to 5 years probation. He's a POS because he left the scene of the accident with his boys without checking on the cars that he hit and before the cops came. Me and you would probably be in jail for that.

The probation thing kind of sucks but it was more than just probation, he got 30 days in jail and $100k in restitution, and he's going to get even more civil suits. What bothers me is that it's been almost a year and a half and his lawyer, who I think is also a state senator, seems to be trying to bleed money from the victims by dragging it out as much as possible.

I would think 1 felony conviction would be enough for a year suspension, let alone 2. Pacman Jones was suspended for a season. Daryl Washington was suspended for a season. Pacman was not convicted in the end, and Washington had 1 felony. The problem is if they classify Rice's crime as non-violent despite multiple injuries they could suspend him less than Robinson within their rules (as little as 1 game).

The Chiefs supposedly hope for as little as 2 games, but it seems 6 is most likely to me.
